Insulin Lispro falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Winter Cherry interacts with.

In animal diabetic models, winter cherry extract decreases blood glucose. This effect has not been shown in humans. Theoretically, winter cherry might have additive effects with antidiabetes drugs and increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (Diabeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), and others.

Here's the gist with Winter Cherry (ashwagandha) and your insulin lispro. This fast-acting mealtime insulin already does the heavy lifting of lowering your blood sugar. In animal studies, Winter Cherry also nudged blood sugar downward. The worry is simple math: if the herb adds even a little to that effect, your sugar could drop too low (hypoglycemia). That can show up as shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, confusion, or feeling lightheaded.

I want to be honest about the strength of this. The blood-sugar effect was seen in lab and animal work, not proven in people, so this is more theoretical than certain. Still, with insulin it's worth caution. Don't change your insulin on your own. Just check your sugars a bit more closely and talk with your pharmacist or doctor before starting Winter Cherry.

What Is Insulin Lispro Injection Used For?

Brand names: Admelog, Admelog Solostar

Insulin lispro injection is used to improve glycemic control (blood sugar management) in people with diabetes mellitus. It is a rapid-acting insulin analog approved for use in both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Admelog is specifically indicated to improve glycemic control in patients with diabetes mellitus. Humalog Mix75/25 is indicated to improve glycemic control in adults with diabetes mellitus; it is a fixed-ratio mixture of insulin lispro and insulin lispro protamine, and its fixed proportions do not allow for separate adjustment of basal (background) and prandial (mealtime) doses.
