Wood Sorrel + Ranitidine Bismuth Citrate
Ranitidine Bismuth Citrate brand name: Tritec.
We found no known interaction between Wood Sorrel and Ranitidine Bismuth Citrate in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.
Wood Sorrel and Ranitidine Bismuth Citrate
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Ranitidine Bismuth Citrate and Wood Sorrel in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Wood Sorrel at all — not against Ranitidine Bismuth Citrate, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

About Wood Sorrel
What is Wood Sorrel?
- Digestive upset
- Mouth and throat soothing
- Mild diuretic
- Fever and thirst relief
- Wound and skin care (traditional)
Wood sorrel is a small, sour-tasting wild plant used in folk medicine and as a tangy edible green. There is very little modern research to support any health use, and its naturally high oxalic acid content means it should be used in small amounts. People with kidney problems, gout, or who are pregnant should be especially cautious.
Oxalis acetosella · Oxalidaceae · Leaves and aerial parts · Fresh leaves, tea, tincture, juice
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Wood Sorrel is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Wood Sorrel record says about it on its own.
Wood Sorrel: dosing
There is no established or standardized medicinal dose for wood sorrel. It has been used traditionally as fresh leaves, a tea, or a juice, but no reliable guidelines exist for how much is safe or effective.Because of its oxalic acid content, it is wise to keep any use to small amounts and avoid taking it regularly.

About Ranitidine
What Is Ranitidine Used For?
Brand name: Tritec
Ranitidine treats a range of stomach acid–related conditions. Prescription-strength ranitidine (capsules, tablets, and oral solution) is used for active duodenal ulcers (ulcers in the small intestine), active benign gastric ulcers (stomach ulcers), GERD (acid reflux disease), erosive esophagitis (acid damage to the esophagus), and pathological hypersecretory conditions — rare disorders where the stomach makes far too much acid, such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It is also used as maintenance therapy to keep duodenal and gastric ulcers from coming back after they have healed.
Over-the-counter products — including Acid Reducer and Acid Reducer 150 tablets — are approved to relieve heartburn associated with acid indigestion and sour stomach, and to prevent that heartburn when taken before eating or drinking foods that trigger it.
