What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: Ailanthus Bark Extract, Dry, made from the bark of the tree of heaven plant. The liquid form also contains alcohol, water, and glycerin as inactive ingredients (solvents and preservatives that help deliver the extract).
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
We hold no effectiveness ratings for this ingredient in our data, so evidence for what it may or may not do isn't established here.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Human safety data for tree of heaven are sparse. At high doses, the bark can cause stomach upset—queasiness, dizziness, headache, tingling in your limbs, and diarrhea have all been reported.
It may also irritate your stomach lining and skin. There isn't enough safety information to recommend it in pregnancy, especially since traditional use suggests it may affect menstrual function.
Breastfeeding safety is also unknown, so it's best avoided if you're nursing. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor if you're considering this during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Blood thinners and antiplatelet drugs (anticoagulants and antiplatelets): in theory, this extract could increase bleeding risk, though it hasn't been seen in humans. Double-check your exact medications before use.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This is a plant extract with very limited human safety data and traditional uses that raise concerns in pregnancy and nursing. If you take blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs, check with your pharmacist before starting.
Because the safety profile is not well-established, discuss this product with your doctor or pharmacist beforehand, especially if you have stomach sensitivity.

Ailanthus by Hawaii Pharm Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Ailanthus Bark Extract by Hawaii Pharm may interact with blood thinners and antiplatelet drugs (medications that reduce clotting).
Lab evidence shows the extract can dampen platelet aggregation (clumping), which is the first step in clot formation. Combined with anticoagulants like warfarin or antiplatelets like aspirin, this could theoretically increase bleeding risk.
However, this interaction hasn't been observed in people yet, so we're working from theory and test-tube data.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
The safety data on this plant are limited overall. People who took large amounts of the bark reported queasiness, dizziness, headache, tingling in the limbs, and diarrhea.
It can also irritate the stomach and skin.
The extract has not been studied for safety in pregnancy or breastfeeding, and traditional use suggests it may affect menstrual function—so it's best to avoid it if you're pregnant or nursing. Altogether, these interactions span 122 individual medications.
If you take any blood thinner or antiplatelet drug, check your exact medication with the tool below before starting this product.

Ailanthus Bark Extract, Dry
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, tree of heaven extract might reduce platelet aggregation and increase the risk of bleeding if used with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs. In vitro evidence shows that tree of heaven crude extract attenuates epinephrine and adenosine diphosphate-induced platelet aggregation. This interaction has not been seen in humans. Until more is known, use with caution in patients taking anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
