Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 2 of its 2 active ingredients.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

Arjuna Extract by Herbadiet contains two active ingredients—arjuna bark extract and organic arjuna—both from the Terminalia arjuna plant. The product also has one inactive ingredient, a vegetable cellulose capsule shell.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not established

The graded evidence we hold for these ingredients covers different conditions than the ones this product is marketed for, so there's no established rating for its stated use — see Terminalia's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • The label markets this product for: heart support and cardiovascular health.
  • We looked for evidence on: Angina, Coronary heart disease (CHD), Heart failure, Hypertension, Hyperlipidemia, blood circulation — and 2 related terms.
  • The closest evidence on file: Terminalia is rated "Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate" for Angina (Natural Medicines).
  • Also on file: Terminalia is rated "Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate" for Coronary heart disease (CHD), Heart failure, Hyperlipidemia, Hypertension.

The evidence we hold doesn't establish whether arjuna works for the conditions it's marketed for. Effectiveness data shows insufficient reliable evidence to rate its use for obesity, high cholesterol (hyperlipidemia), high blood pressure (hypertension), or angina.

That doesn't mean it doesn't work—just that the studies we have access to aren't strong enough yet to say either way.

Safety Information · database check
Some gaps

Safety data exists for these ingredients, but with some important gaps.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 0 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Arjuna is generally well tolerated in short-term studies, though long-term safety data is limited and quality can vary by product. The safety data advises against use during pregnancy and while breastfeeding due to insufficient safety information.

If you're pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or nursing, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting this supplement.

Moderate identified

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Terminalia.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: anticoagulant / antiplatelet drugs; diabetes medications.
  • For scale: 934 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

Check with your pharmacist before taking this product if you take blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs (like warfarin or aspirin), diabetes medications, drugs processed through CYP2D6, CYP2C9, or CYP3A4 pathways (a huge category including many heart and psychiatric medications), chlorzoxazone (a muscle relaxer), or omeprazole (a heartburn medication).

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and some safety-information gaps remain.

Arjuna Extract may be worth considering if you're interested in traditional cardiovascular support and have no medications that interact with it. But because it affects how your liver processes a large number of drugs, you really need to check your current medications first.

Talk to your pharmacist before adding this to your routine—especially if you take blood thinners, diabetes drugs, or anything metabolized by your liver.

Arjuna Extract by Herbadiet: Common Questions

Does Arjuna Extract by Herbadiet interact with any medications?
Yes. Based on its ingredients, Arjuna Extract has a known interaction with 933 medications. Use the checker to see how it interacts with a specific drug.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
Arjuna Extract contains 2 active ingredients, and an interaction can come from any of them. We check every ingredient, combine the results into one list per medication, and show which ingredient and mechanism is responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Can I take this while I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
The safety data advises against it during both pregnancy and breastfeeding because there isn't enough information to know it's safe. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized advice.
Does arjuna actually work for heart health?
We don't have strong enough evidence to confirm it works for heart-related conditions like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or angina. The current studies aren't reliable enough to rate its effectiveness.
Are there any side effects from taking this supplement?
Arjuna appears to be well tolerated in short-term studies, and we have no documented adverse effects from trial data. That said, long-term safety data is limited and quality varies by product, so monitor how you feel.
What happens if I take this with my blood pressure medication?
Many blood pressure medications are processed through the liver pathways that arjuna can affect, which means this supplement might increase your medication levels and side effects. You must check your specific drugs with your pharmacist before starting.
Is this safe to take with diabetes medication?
Arjuna may lower blood sugar on its own, so combining it with diabetes drugs could increase your risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). Talk with your pharmacist before using this product.
How long does it take to work?
The evidence we hold doesn't establish whether arjuna works for its intended uses, so we can't say how long you'd need to take it or whether you'd notice any effect.
