Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: arnica flower extract from Arnica montana. The liquid also contains certified organic cane alcohol and distilled water as inactive ingredients to preserve and deliver the extract.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Arnica shows possibly effective evidence for osteoarthritis — some data suggests it may help with joint pain and swelling. For acne, breast cancer-related hot flashes, postoperative pain, and dry eye, the evidence is insufficient to know whether it works; we don't have reliable trial data on those uses yet.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Topical and homeopathic arnica are generally well tolerated, but this is a liquid extract meant to be taken by mouth — and orally, arnica carries real safety concerns. Swallowing undiluted arnica or large amounts can cause toxicity, with reported side effects ranging from nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain to high blood pressure, muscle weakness, and irregular heartbeat.
In rare cases, serious harm including multi-organ failure has been reported. The safety data advises against use during pregnancy and while breastfeeding.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check your blood thinners and antiplatelet drugs (such as warfarin, aspirin, and clopidogrel) before taking this product — arnica may theoretically increase their effect. Use the search tool on this page with your exact medications.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product is an oral arnica extract, not a topical or homeopathic preparation — that matters for safety. If you're considering it for osteoarthritis, talk with your pharmacist first, especially if you take any blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs.
Pregnant and breastfeeding individuals should avoid it.

Arnica Professional Extract by Herb Pharm Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Arnica Professional Extract by Herb Pharm is a liquid extract of arnica flower that does interact with one class of medications.
The main concern is blood thinners and antiplatelet drugs (medications that prevent clotting). Arnica contains compounds called sesquiterpene lactones that in lab studies can slow down platelet clumping, and theoretically could add to the effect of your blood thinner or antiplatelet medication.
That said, the effect hasn't been proven in humans — it's a theoretical risk based on what happens in a test tube.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Although this is a liquid extract (not homeopathic), the lab data suggests the risk is real enough to warrant caution. Altogether, these interactions span 122 individual medications.
Before you start arnica, use the search tool below to check your exact blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs — warfarin, aspirin, clopidogrel, and many others fall into this group. If you take any of those, talk to your pharmacist or doctor first.

Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
