What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Atomic 7 Way Out Watermelon against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Atomic 7 Way Out Watermelon by Universal
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This 7-ingredient powder contains three branched-chain amino acids—L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, and L-Valine—along with L-Glutamine, Vitamin B6, L-Taurine, and Citrulline Malate. Amino acids are the building blocks your body uses to make and repair muscle and other tissues.
Citrulline Malate is a compound that may support blood flow and workout performance. The product also contains inactive ingredients including citric acid for flavor and texture, artificial watermelon flavor, and sweeteners.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
In our data, L-Glutamine is rated Effective for sickle cell disease and Possibly Effective for HIV/AIDS-related wasting, postoperative recovery, and recovery from critical illness or trauma. Vitamin B6 is rated Effective for sideroblastic anemia and vitamin B6 deficiency, Likely Effective for high homocysteine levels, and Possibly Effective for pregnancy-related nausea and vomiting.
L-Taurine is rated Possibly Effective for hepatitis and heart failure, and Possibly Ineffective for weight loss. We hold no effectiveness ratings for the branched-chain amino acids or Citrulline Malate in this product.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
L-Glutamine is generally well tolerated but can cause gastrointestinal side effects like bloating, constipation, nausea, diarrhea, and stomach pain—especially at higher doses. People with kidney or liver disease should use it only under medical supervision, and there isn't enough safety data to recommend supplemental doses while breastfeeding unless your doctor says otherwise.
Vitamin B6 is well tolerated at doses under 100 mg daily, but high doses over time can damage nerves (a condition called sensory neuropathy), and high doses may also cause headache or upset stomach. L-Taurine is generally well tolerated short-term in healthy adults but can cause constipation, diarrhea, or indigestion; long-term safety is less certain.
People with a history of allergies to sulfonamides or sulfites should be cautious, as one case of an allergic reaction to taurine has been reported. Both L-Glutamine and L-Taurine are rated Likely Safe in pregnancy and lactation.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this product, double-check if you're on anticonvulsant drugs (for seizures)—glutamine may reduce their effectiveness. Moderate interactions are possible with blood pressure medications, lithium, amiodarone, or the seizure drugs phenobarbital and phenytoin due to vitamin B6 content.
If you take levodopa without carbidopa, vitamin B6 may interfere with it. If none of these apply to you, no interactions are documented for the other ingredients we could check.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with strong clinical evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product is marketed for muscle support and workout performance using amino acids and related compounds. If you take any anticonvulsants, blood pressure medications, lithium, amiodarone, phenobarbital, phenytoin, or levodopa alone, check your exact medications with our tool before starting.
People with kidney or liver disease should talk to their doctor first. For most healthy adults with no medications, it's generally well tolerated, but GI side effects like bloating or stomach upset are possible.

Atomic 7 Way Out Watermelon by Universal Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Atomic 7 Way Out Watermelon by Universal contains ingredients that do interact with some medications.
The most serious concern is L-Glutamine's theoretical interaction with anticonvulsant drugs (medications that prevent seizures). Glutamine is broken down in your body into glutamate, a brain chemical that may work against anticonvulsants and reduce their effectiveness.
This hasn't been reported in humans yet, but it's worth knowing about.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Vitamin B6 in this product can interact with several medications at a Moderate level. High doses may reduce how well phenobarbital and phenytoin work by speeding up your body's breakdown of them.
Vitamin B6 may also add to the blood-pressure-lowering effects of antihypertensive drugs, and it might worsen photosensitivity (sun sensitivity) caused by the heart drug amiodarone. There's also a Minor interaction with levodopa, though this doesn't happen if you're taking it with carbidopa (Sinemet).
L-Taurine can theoretically increase the blood-pressure-lowering effect of antihypertensive medications and may raise lithium levels in your blood by reducing how much your kidneys clear it.
We could not check three other amino acids in this product—L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, and Citrulline Malate—because we hold no interaction data for them. Altogether, these interactions span 248 individual medications.
Before you start this supplement, use the medication checker on this page to see if any of your prescriptions are on the list.

For each ingredient in Atomic 7 Way Out Watermelon with known interactions, here are the types of medications they can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Vitamin B6
Amiodarone (Cordarone)
Theoretically, vitamin B6 might increase the photosensitivity caused by amiodarone.
Despite initial case reports suggesting that pyridoxine may have a protective effect against amiodarone-induced photosensitivity, preliminary clinical research suggests that pyridoxine may actually exacerbate this adverse effect.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, vitamin B6 may have additive effects when used with antihypertensive drugs.
Research in hypertensive rats shows that vitamin B6 can decrease systolic blood pressure. Similarly, clinical research in patients with hypertension shows that taking high doses of vitamin B6 may reduce systolic and diastolic blood pressure, possibly by reducing plasma levels of epinephrine and norepinephrine.
Phenobarbital (Luminal)
High doses of vitamin B6 may reduce the levels and clinical effects of phenobarbital.
Preliminary clinical evidence suggests that vitamin B6 200 mg daily can reduce plasma levels of phenobarbital, possibly by increasing metabolism. It is not known whether lower doses have any effect. Advise people taking phenobarbital to avoid high doses of vitamin B6.
Phenytoin (Dilantin)
High doses of vitamin B6 may reduce the levels and clinical effects of phenytoin.
Preliminary clinical evidence suggests that vitamin B6 200 mg daily can reduce plasma levels of phenytoin, possibly by increasing metabolism. It is not known whether lower doses have any effect. Advise people taking phenytoin to avoid high doses of vitamin B6.
Levodopa
Vitamin B6 may increase the metabolism of levodopa when taken alone, but not when taken in conjunction with carbidopa.
Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) enhances the metabolism of levodopa, reducing its clinical effects. However, this interaction does not occur when carbidopa is used concurrently with levodopa (Sinemet). Therefore, it is not likely to be a problem in most people.
L-Taurine
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, taurine might increase the risk of hypotension when taken with antihypertensive drugs.
Some clinical evidence suggests that taurine can reduce both systolic and diastolic blood pressure.
Lithium
Theoretically, taurine might reduce excretion and increase plasma levels of lithium.
Taurine is thought to have diuretic properties, which might reduce the excretion of lithium.
L-Glutamine
Anticonvulsants
Theoretically, glutamine might antagonize the effects of anticonvulsant medications.
Glutamine is metabolized to the excitatory neurotransmitter glutamate. Glutamate might have antagonistic effects with anticonvulsant drugs. However, this interaction has not yet been reported in humans.
