Atomic 7 Black Cherry Bomb Ingredients & Drug Interactions

What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Atomic 7 Black Cherry Bomb against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

What’s inside
Full disclosure
Atomic 7 Black Cherry Bomb is a 7-ingredient powder designed as a branched-chain amino acid (BCAA) and workout support formula. The active amino acids are L-Glutamine, L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, L-Valine, L-Taurine, and Citrulline Malate — compounds your muscles and body use during and after exercise.
The formula also includes Vitamin B6, which plays a role in amino acid metabolism. The remaining ingredients are inactive fillers and flavorings — citric acid, sweeteners (sucralose and acesulfame K), artificial flavor, and food dyes.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
The evidence for this product's ingredients is mixed. Glutamine has established effectiveness for sickle cell disease and shows possible benefit for HIV-related muscle wasting, recovery after surgery, and critical illness from trauma.
Vitamin B6 is effective for specific conditions like sideroblastic anemia and vitamin B6 deficiency, and shows possible benefit for pregnancy-related nausea. L-Taurine is possibly effective for hepatitis and congestive heart failure, though it appears possibly ineffective for weight loss.
We hold no effectiveness data in our records for L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, L-Valine, or Citrulline Malate.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Glutamine is generally well tolerated by healthy adults, though people with kidney or liver disease should use it only under medical supervision. The most common side effects are gastrointestinal — belching, bloating, constipation, flatulence, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea — especially at higher doses.
Rare cases of dizziness and headache have been reported, and there are two reported cases of mania or hypomania in patients with bipolar disorder. Vitamin B6 is well tolerated at doses under 100 mg daily, with common mild side effects like headache, nausea, and heartburn.
High doses over time can cause sensory nerve damage (neuropathy); doses above 1,000 mg daily carry the most risk, though damage can occur at lower amounts. L-Taurine is generally well tolerated in typical doses for up to a year, with gastrointestinal side effects being most common.
Glutamine is likely safe in pregnancy and lactation; Vitamin B6 is likely safe in pregnancy but avoid it unless advised by a doctor while breastfeeding; and Taurine is likely safe in both. We hold no pregnancy or lactation data for L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, L-Valine, or Citrulline Malate.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take anticonvulsant medications (phenytoin, phenobarbital, or others), blood pressure drugs, lithium, or the heart medication amiodarone, check with your pharmacist first. The Moderate-severity interactions with Glutamine, Vitamin B6, and Taurine in this formula need to be reviewed against your specific medications before you use it.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with strong clinical evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This formula may appeal to athletes or people in recovery wanting amino acid and muscle support, but it's not right for you if you take seizure medications, blood pressure drugs, lithium, or amiodarone — or if you have kidney or liver disease. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before starting, especially if you're on any prescriptions.

Atomic 7 Black Cherry Bomb by Universal Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Atomic 7 Black Cherry Bomb by Universal contains ingredients that do interact with medications.
The most serious interaction involves L-Glutamine and anticonvulsant drugs (like phenytoin and phenobarbital). Glutamine is metabolized to an excitatory brain chemical that may work against these seizure medications, though this hasn't been reported in humans yet — it remains a theoretical concern worth discussing with your pharmacist.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Vitamin B6 in this product carries several Moderate-severity interactions. High doses can reduce how well phenytoin and phenobarbital work by speeding up your liver's breakdown of them.
B6 may also add to the blood-pressure-lowering effect of antihypertensive drugs, and there's preliminary evidence it might worsen photosensitivity reactions from the heart drug amiodarone. Additionally, L-Taurine may increase the blood-pressure-lowering effect of antihypertensive medications and theoretically could raise lithium levels by reducing how your kidneys clear it.
We couldn't check L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, L-Valine, and Citrulline Malate — we hold no interaction data for these ingredients. Altogether, these interactions span 248 individual medications.

For each ingredient in Atomic 7 Black Cherry Bomb with known interactions, here are the types of medications they can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Vitamin B6
Amiodarone (Cordarone)
Theoretically, vitamin B6 might increase the photosensitivity caused by amiodarone.
Despite initial case reports suggesting that pyridoxine may have a protective effect against amiodarone-induced photosensitivity, preliminary clinical research suggests that pyridoxine may actually exacerbate this adverse effect.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, vitamin B6 may have additive effects when used with antihypertensive drugs.
Research in hypertensive rats shows that vitamin B6 can decrease systolic blood pressure. Similarly, clinical research in patients with hypertension shows that taking high doses of vitamin B6 may reduce systolic and diastolic blood pressure, possibly by reducing plasma levels of epinephrine and norepinephrine.
Phenobarbital (Luminal)
High doses of vitamin B6 may reduce the levels and clinical effects of phenobarbital.
Preliminary clinical evidence suggests that vitamin B6 200 mg daily can reduce plasma levels of phenobarbital, possibly by increasing metabolism. It is not known whether lower doses have any effect. Advise people taking phenobarbital to avoid high doses of vitamin B6.
Phenytoin (Dilantin)
High doses of vitamin B6 may reduce the levels and clinical effects of phenytoin.
Preliminary clinical evidence suggests that vitamin B6 200 mg daily can reduce plasma levels of phenytoin, possibly by increasing metabolism. It is not known whether lower doses have any effect. Advise people taking phenytoin to avoid high doses of vitamin B6.
Levodopa
Vitamin B6 may increase the metabolism of levodopa when taken alone, but not when taken in conjunction with carbidopa.
Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) enhances the metabolism of levodopa, reducing its clinical effects. However, this interaction does not occur when carbidopa is used concurrently with levodopa (Sinemet). Therefore, it is not likely to be a problem in most people.
L-Taurine
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, taurine might increase the risk of hypotension when taken with antihypertensive drugs.
Some clinical evidence suggests that taurine can reduce both systolic and diastolic blood pressure.
Lithium
Theoretically, taurine might reduce excretion and increase plasma levels of lithium.
Taurine is thought to have diuretic properties, which might reduce the excretion of lithium.
L-Glutamine
Anticonvulsants
Theoretically, glutamine might antagonize the effects of anticonvulsant medications.
Glutamine is metabolized to the excitatory neurotransmitter glutamate. Glutamate might have antagonistic effects with anticonvulsant drugs. However, this interaction has not yet been reported in humans.
