Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
Chlorophyll Concentrate 200 mg contains one active ingredient: chlorophyll concentrate at 200 mg per capsule. Chlorophyll is the green pigment in plants that captures light for photosynthesis.
The capsule also contains two inactive ingredients — gelatin and rice powder — which are fillers and binders.
Does it work?
Not established
The evidence for chlorophyll concentrate isn't established in the data we hold. It's been studied for genital herpes, wound healing, shingles, nonmelanoma skin cancer, and pancreatitis, but in each case the reliable evidence is insufficient to rate whether it actually works.
That doesn't mean it doesn't; it means we don't have solid proof yet.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Chlorophyll is generally well tolerated in short-term use, but high-quality safety information is limited. The most common side effect from taking it by mouth is photosensitization — increased sensitivity to sunlight, which can lead to sunburn or skin reactions more easily than usual.
Rarely, oral chlorophyll has been associated with pseudoporphyria, a condition that causes blisters on hands that are easily traumatized. There isn't enough reliable safety data to use this supplement during pregnancy, so it's best avoided.
Safety during breastfeeding is also unknown, so talk with your doctor or pharmacist before using it if you're nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this product, double-check whether you're on any photosensitizing drugs — those that increase your skin's sensitivity to sunlight. Also check if you take methotrexate (Trexall or generics).
Altogether, these interactions span 336 individual medications.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Chlorophyll concentrate might appeal to you if you're interested in plant-based supplements and don't take photosensitizing drugs or methotrexate. If you do take either of those, or any other medications, check them against the drug interaction tool on this page first.
The safety data is limited, and it's not recommended in pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical advice. Chat with your pharmacist before starting.

Chlorophyll Concentrate 200 mg by We Like Vitamins Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Chlorophyll Concentrate 200 mg by We Like Vitamins has documented interactions with medications in two drug categories that we need to discuss.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
The most serious concern is with photosensitizing drugs (drugs that make your skin more sensitive to sunlight). Chlorophyll itself can cause photosensitization, and using it alongside other photosensitizing medications may compound that effect.
We're talking about a moderate-level interaction here. Chlorophyll has been linked to a rare condition called pseudoporphyria (blistering on hands and feet) in a small number of case reports after oral intake.
The other documented interaction is with methotrexate (Trexall), a cancer and autoimmune disease medication. There's one case report of a patient whose body cleared methotrexate more slowly when taking chlorophyll at the same time.
When chlorophyll was stopped two days before the methotrexate dose, clearance returned to normal — so timing may matter here.
Before you start this supplement, run your exact medications through the checker on this page, especially if you take any photosensitizing drugs or methotrexate.

Chlorophyll concentrate
Methotrexate (Trexall, Others)
Theoretically, chlorophyll may reduce the clearance of methotrexate.
In one case report, a 54-year-old male developed delayed clearance of intravenous high-dose methotrexate with concomitant use of chlorophyll. When chlorophyll was stopped 2 days prior to methotrexate treatment, methotrexate clearance was unaffected.
Photosensitizing Drugs
Theoretically, concomitant use of chlorophyll with photosensitizing drugs may have additive effects.
Chlorophyll has been reported to cause photosensitization. In two case reports, pseudoporphyria developed after oral intake of chlorophyll. Theoretically, concomitant use with other photosensitizing drugs may exacerbate this effect.
