DigestEzy Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by Nutracraft
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking DigestEzy against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
DigestEzy contains 18 active digestive enzymes. The main ones we have safety data for are papain (a protein-digesting enzyme from papaya), bromelain (a similar enzyme from pineapple), lipase (which breaks down fats), lactase (which breaks down lactose from dairy), and phytase and several proteases (which help break down various food components).
The product also contains several other enzyme ingredients like amylase, cellulase, and invertase that support digestion of different food types. Inactive ingredients — maltodextrin, a vegetable capsule, and medium chain triglycerides — serve as fillers and capsule material.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
The evidence for most of these enzymes isn't established in the data we hold. Lactase is effective for lactose intolerance — it helps people who can't digest milk sugar.
For papain and bromelain, the facts show insufficient reliable evidence for the conditions they're studied for, including cancer, wound healing, and various infections. For lipase, phytase, and the other proteases, either no effectiveness ratings exist in our data or the ratings show insufficient evidence.
If digestive support is your goal, the data we have doesn't establish whether DigestEzy works for that purpose.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Papain and bromelain are generally well tolerated at normal doses, but both can cause allergic reactions in sensitive people — including digestive upset, itching, and in rare cases with high papain doses, serious damage to the esophagus or stomach lining. Bromelain may also cause diarrhea, gas, or headache.
Lactase is generally well tolerated. The proteases and phytase are also generally well tolerated but may cause digestive upset or allergic reactions in some people.
For pregnancy, papain is possibly unsafe — concentrated forms and unripe papaya products are best avoided. Bromelain and the proteases should be avoided during pregnancy unless prescribed by your doctor.
Lactase is likely safe in pregnancy. For breastfeeding, there isn't enough safety data for papain, bromelain, phytase, or the proteases, so check with your doctor or pharmacist before using this product if you're nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking DigestEzy, double-check with your pharmacist or doctor if you're on warfarin or any other blood thinner or antiplatelet medication — papain and bromelain may increase your bleeding risk. Also mention tetracycline antibiotics, where bromelain may affect how much of the drug your body absorbs.
No interactions are documented for the other enzymes in the product that we could check.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with clinical evidence supporting its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
DigestEzy is a multi-enzyme product primarily aimed at digestive support, but the evidence doesn't establish whether it works for that. It's a real concern if you take warfarin or other blood thinners — the papain and bromelain could increase bleeding risk.
If you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking any medications, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting this product.

DigestEzy by Nutracraft Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
DigestEzy by Nutracraft does interact with some medications, primarily through its papain and bromelain content.
The most serious concern is papain's potential to increase the effects of warfarin (Coumadin), a blood thinner — a moderate-severity interaction documented in a case where a patient's blood-thinning level became dangerously elevated after taking a papain-containing supplement.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Bromelain presents a moderate-severity interaction with anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs (blood thinners and medications that prevent clotting), where it may increase bleeding risk; one case report noted minor bruising when bromelain was combined with naproxen. Bromelain also carries a minor interaction with tetracycline antibiotics, where it may theoretically increase antibiotic levels, though a human study found no meaningful difference in actual drug levels.
Several of the other ingredients in this product — amylase, cellulase, aspergillopepsin, peptidase, invertase, glucoamylase, alpha-galactosidase, xylanase, pectinase, beta-glucanase, and hemicellulase — we could not check for interactions because our data doesn't cover them. Lipase, lactase, phytase, and the two proteases showed no interactions in our records.
Altogether, these interactions span 141 individual medications. If you take warfarin, any blood thinner, any blood-clotting prevention medication, or tetracycline antibiotics, check your exact medications with the search tool on this page before starting DigestEzy.

Bromelain
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Bromelain may have antiplatelet effects and may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
There is one case report of a patient experiencing minor bruising while taking bromelain with naproxen. Bromelain is thought to have antiplatelet activity. Whether this interaction is of concern with topical bromelain is unclear. Interference with coagulation of burn wounds has been reported in a patient receiving bromelain-based enzymatic debridement. However, observational research has found that topical bromelain debridement is not associated with increases or decreases in laboratory markers of coagulation when compared with surgical debridement.
Tetracycline Antibiotics
Theoretically, bromelain might increase levels of tetracycline antibiotics.
Laboratory research suggests that bromelain might increase the absorption of tetracycline antibiotics. However, a study in healthy adults reported no difference in tetracycline plasma levels when a 500 mg dose was taken with or without bromelain 80 mg.
Papain
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Theoretically, papain might increase the effects and side effects of warfarin.
In one case report, a patient previously stable on warfarin was found to have an international normalization ratio (INR) of 7.4, which was attributed to ingestion of a supplement containing papain from papaya extract.
