Everyday Energy Formula Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by CATALO
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Everyday Energy Formula against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Everyday Energy Formula contains 32 ingredients, of which 24 are active. The main active components include several B vitamins (vitamin B1, B6, B12, and pantothenic acid), which support energy production and nerve function.
The formula also contains the amino acid blend and minerals like sodium and silicon dioxide. Several plant-based actives round out the mix: bromelain (an enzyme from pineapple), the probiotic lactobacillus acidophilus, and a blend of vegetables and fruits — blueberry, carrot, strawberry, parsley, tomato, soy flour, raspberry, broccoli, spinach, kale, apple, and beet.
The herb ashwagandha (KSM-66 strain) and bee pollen are included as well. The inactive ingredients — plant polysaccharides, rice, rice bran extract, rice flour, and purified water — serve as fillers and capsule material.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence on effectiveness varies widely by ingredient. Vitamin B6 is effective for sideroblastic anemia and vitamin B6 deficiency, and likely effective for lowering high homocysteine levels — a heart-risk marker.
Vitamin B12 is effective for B12 deficiency and certain rare conditions, and likely effective for cyanide poisoning. Pantothenic acid is effective for pantothenic acid deficiency.
Sodium is likely effective for cystic fibrosis and possibly effective for kidney damage from the drug amphotericin B, though its use as a supplement is limited by safety concerns. Silicon dioxide is possibly effective for osteoporosis.
Ashwagandha is possibly effective for insomnia, anxiety, generalized anxiety disorder, and stress. Beet is possibly effective for athletic performance and exercise-induced muscle soreness.
For most other ingredients — bromelain, lactobacillus acidophilus, blueberry, gum arabic, carrot, strawberry, parsley, tomato, soy, broccoli, spinach, kale, apple, and bee pollen — the evidence is either insufficient to establish effectiveness or shows insufficient evidence for the conditions tested.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Most ingredients in this formula are generally well tolerated at typical doses. Vitamin B6 is safe at standard amounts but can cause nerve damage (sensory neuropathy) at very high doses over time — avoid doses above 1,000 mg daily.
Vitamin B12 has no established upper limit and is considered safe because excess is excreted. Sodium is essential in small amounts but excess is linked to high blood pressure and heart strain; normal dietary sodium is fine, but avoid sodium supplements or very high intake without medical advice.
Bromelain, lactobacillus acidophilus, blueberry, and most vegetables are well tolerated short-term. Bee pollen can trigger serious allergic reactions, especially in people allergic to ragweed or related plants.
Ashwagandha is traditionally thought to risk miscarriage and should be avoided during pregnancy; safety while breastfeeding is not established. Parsley in large amounts may cause serious effects and should be avoided during pregnancy.
Silicon dioxide from food sources is safe, but safety during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been established for supplements.
Meds to double-check
Major interaction found
Check with your doctor or pharmacist before combining this product with any of the following medication types: monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) — soy flour poses a Major-severity risk; blood pressure drugs (antihypertensives) — multiple ingredients can lower blood pressure further; blood thinners and antiplatelet drugs (anticoagulants, aspirin, clopidogrel) — bromelain, strawberry, and parsley may increase bleeding risk; diabetes medications — parsley, soy, ashwagandha, and blueberry may lower blood sugar further; lithium and other mood stabilizers; seizure medications (phenobarbital, phenytoin); heart rhythm medications (amiodarone); thyroid medications (levothyroxine); sedatives, anti-anxiety drugs, and benzodiazepines — ashwagandha may increase drowsiness; and diuretic drugs. Additionally, if you take fexofenadine (Allegra), atenolol (Tenormin), or aliskiren (Tekturna) — apple in this formula may significantly lower their blood levels.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Major medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This is a broad-spectrum energy and wellness formula with B vitamins, probiotics, and plant foods. If you take any medication — especially blood pressure drugs, blood thinners, diabetes medications, seizure drugs, thyroid medication, or an MAOI — you need to review your exact prescriptions with your own doctor or pharmacist before starting.
Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should talk with their provider first, as several ingredients lack safety data or carry concerns in pregnancy. Generally healthy adults without medication interactions may find the B vitamins and ashwagandha potentially helpful for energy and stress, though evidence is mixed.

Everyday Energy Formula by CATALO Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Everyday Energy Formula by CATALO has interactions documented for many of its ingredients.
The most serious concern is a Major-severity interaction: soy flour's tyramine content with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) — a medication class used for certain types of depression — can trigger a dangerous spike in blood pressure (hypertensive crisis). This product also contains sodium, vitamin B6, bromelain, lactobacillus acidophilus, blueberry, gum arabic, strawberry, parsley, soy flour, broccoli, spinach, apple, ashwagandha (KSM-66), beet, and bee pollen, each with documented Moderate or Minor interactions.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
The Moderate-severity interactions span several medication types. Sodium interacts with blood pressure drugs (antihypertensives), corticosteroids, lithium, didanosine, sodium phosphates, tolvaptan, and other sodium-containing drugs — mainly by raising sodium levels or affecting how your body handles certain medications.
Vitamin B6 at high doses can interact with blood pressure drugs, the heart rhythm medication amiodarone, and seizure medications (phenobarbital and phenytoin) by potentially reducing their effectiveness. Bromelain and strawberry both may increase bleeding risk with blood thinners (anticoagulants) and antiplatelet drugs.
Parsley interacts with multiple drug types including blood thinners, diabetes medications, diuretics, the blood thinner warfarin specifically, sedatives, and the transplant drug sirolimus — largely through effects on liver enzymes or vitamin K content. Soy flour interacts with blood pressure drugs, estrogen replacement therapy, diabetes medications, diuretics, caffeine, warfarin, and the thyroid medication levothyroxine.
Additionally, several ingredients interact with liver enzymes that process drugs. Blueberry, gum arabic, broccoli, and beet may affect how your body metabolizes other medications.
Ashwagandha interacts with sedatives and anti-anxiety drugs (benzodiazepines), blood pressure drugs, diabetes drugs, thyroid hormone, and drugs that stress the liver. Apple has Major-severity interactions with drugs transported by organic anion-transporting polypeptides — notably fexofenadine, atenolol, and aliskiren — reducing their blood levels significantly.
Vitamin B12 has a Minor interaction with metformin, a diabetes drug.
Additionally, we could not check vitamin B1, amino acids, maltodextrin, and raspberry because we hold no interaction data for them. Altogether, these interactions span 2,315 individual medications.
Before taking this product, check your exact medications with your doctor or pharmacist — especially if you take any blood pressure medication, blood thinner, diabetes drug, seizure medication, thyroid medication, or any MAOI.

KSM-66
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, taking ashwagandha with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
There is preliminary clinical evidence suggesting that ashwagandha might lower blood glucose levels. Theoretically, ashwagandha might have additive effects when used with antidiabetes drugs and increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, taking ashwagandha with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.
Animal research suggests that ashwagandha might lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Theoretically, ashwagandha might have additive effects when used with antihypertensive drugs and increase the risk of hypotension.
Benzodiazepines
Theoretically, taking ashwagandha might increase the sedative effects of benzodiazepines.
There is preliminary evidence that ashwagandha might have an additive effect with diazepam (Valium) and clonazepam (Klonopin). This may also occur with other benzodiazepines.
Cns Depressants
Theoretically, taking ashwagandha might increase the sedative effects of CNS depressants.
Ashwagandha seems to have sedative effects. Theoretically, this may potentiate the effects of barbiturates, other sedatives, and anxiolytics.
Hepatotoxic Drugs
Theoretically, taking ashwagandha with hepatotoxic drugs might increase the risk of liver damage.
Ashwagandha has been linked to cases of acute hepatitis, liver failure, hepatic encephalopathy, autoimmune hepatitis, the need for liver transplantation, and death due to liver failure.
Immunosuppressants
Theoretically, taking ashwagandha might decrease the effects of immunosuppressants.
Ashwagandha has demonstrated immunostimulant effects in humans. Animal research has shown that ashwagandha can attenuate the immunosuppression caused by cyclophosphamide.
Thyroid Hormone
Ashwagandha might increase the effects and adverse effects of thyroid hormone.
Concomitant use of ashwagandha with thyroid hormones may cause additive therapeutic and adverse effects. Preliminary clinical research and animal studies suggest that ashwagandha boosts thyroid hormone synthesis and secretion. In one clinical study, ashwagandha increased triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4) levels by 41.5% and 19.6%, respectively, and reduced serum TSH levels by 17.4% from baseline in adults with subclinical hypothyroidism.
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, ashwagandha might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro research shows that ashwagandha extract induces CYP1A2 enzymes.
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
Theoretically, ashwagandha might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that ashwagandha extract induces CYP3A4 enzymes.
Serotonergic Drugs
Some animal studies have reported that ashwagandha can enhance serotonergic transmission by altering certain serotonin (5-HT) receptors. However, there is no evidence to suggest that ashwagandha increases the risk of serotonin-related effects, and there have been no published case reports of serotonin syndrome when combined with other serotonergic drugs. Nevertheless, due to the lack of extensive studies on the matter and the fact that ashwagandha appears to affect serotonergic pathways, it would be prudent to exercise caution when combining it with drugs that affect serotonin. Vitamin B6, Natural
Amiodarone (Cordarone)
Theoretically, vitamin B6 might increase the photosensitivity caused by amiodarone.
Despite initial case reports suggesting that pyridoxine may have a protective effect against amiodarone-induced photosensitivity, preliminary clinical research suggests that pyridoxine may actually exacerbate this adverse effect.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, vitamin B6 may have additive effects when used with antihypertensive drugs.
Research in hypertensive rats shows that vitamin B6 can decrease systolic blood pressure. Similarly, clinical research in patients with hypertension shows that taking high doses of vitamin B6 may reduce systolic and diastolic blood pressure, possibly by reducing plasma levels of epinephrine and norepinephrine.
Phenobarbital (Luminal)
High doses of vitamin B6 may reduce the levels and clinical effects of phenobarbital.
Preliminary clinical evidence suggests that vitamin B6 200 mg daily can reduce plasma levels of phenobarbital, possibly by increasing metabolism. It is not known whether lower doses have any effect. Advise people taking phenobarbital to avoid high doses of vitamin B6.
Phenytoin (Dilantin)
High doses of vitamin B6 may reduce the levels and clinical effects of phenytoin.
Preliminary clinical evidence suggests that vitamin B6 200 mg daily can reduce plasma levels of phenytoin, possibly by increasing metabolism. It is not known whether lower doses have any effect. Advise people taking phenytoin to avoid high doses of vitamin B6.
Levodopa
Vitamin B6 may increase the metabolism of levodopa when taken alone, but not when taken in conjunction with carbidopa.
Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) enhances the metabolism of levodopa, reducing its clinical effects. However, this interaction does not occur when carbidopa is used concurrently with levodopa (Sinemet). Therefore, it is not likely to be a problem in most people.
Sodium
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, a high intake of dietary sodium might reduce the effectiveness of antihypertensive drugs.
High intake of dietary sodium can increase systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Also, high intake of sodium may necessitate increased use of antihypertensive medications to achieve blood pressure control in some patients, such as those with chronic kidney disease.
Corticosteroids
Concomitant use of mineralocorticoids and some glucocorticoids with sodium supplements might increase the risk of hypernatremia.
Mineralocorticoids and some glucocorticoids (corticosteroids) cause sodium retention. This effect is dose-related and depends on mineralocorticoid potency. It is most common with hydrocortisone, cortisone, and fludrocortisone, followed by prednisone and prednisolone.
Didanosine (Videx)
Concomitant use of didanosine with additional sodium from dietary or supplemental sources may increase the risk of hypernatremia.
Didanosine formulations contain a significant amount of sodium.
Lithium
Altering dietary intake of sodium might alter the levels and clinical effects of lithium.
High sodium intake can reduce plasma concentrations of lithium by increasing lithium excretion. Reducing sodium intake can significantly increase plasma concentrations of lithium and cause lithium toxicity in patients being treated with lithium carbonate. Stabilizing sodium intake is shown to reduce the percentage of patients with lithium level fluctuations above 0.8 mEq/L. Patients taking lithium should avoid significant alterations in their dietary intake of sodium.
Sodium Phosphates
Theoretically, concomitant use of sodium phosphate with sodium supplements might increase the risk of hypernatremia.
Use of high doses (> 45 mL in 24 hours) of sodium phosphate, such as those used for bowel cleansing before surgery, can lead to serious electrolyte disturbances, including hypernatremia. The risk of hypernatremia is highest in the elderly and people with other risk factors for electrolyte disturbances.
Sodium-Containing Drugs
Concomitant use of sodium-containing drugs with additional sodium from dietary or supplemental sources may increase the risk of hypernatremia and long-term sodium-related complications.
The Chronic Disease Risk Reduction (CDRR) intake level of 2.3 grams of sodium daily indicates the intake at which it is believed that chronic disease risk increases for the apparently healthy population. Some medications contain high quantities of sodium. When used in conjunction with sodium supplements or high-sodium diets, the CDRR may be exceeded. Additionally, concomitant use may increase the risk for hypernatremia; this risk is highest in the elderly and people with other risk factors for electrolyte disturbances.
Tolvaptan (Samsca)
Theoretically, concomitant use of tolvaptan with sodium might increase the risk of hypernatremia.
Tolvaptan is a vasopressin receptor 2 antagonist that is used to increase sodium levels in patients with hyponatremia. Patients taking tolvaptan should use caution with the use of sodium salts such as sodium chloride.
Vitamin B12, Natural
Metformin (Glucophage)
Metformin, a common medication used to manage type 2 diabetes, has been associated with lower vitamin B12 levels in some individuals. Prolonged use of metformin can interfere with the absorption of B12 in the digestive system, potentially leading to a deficiency in this essential vitamin.
Bee Pollen, Powder
Warfarin (Coumadin)
There is some concern that bee pollen might interact with warfarin and increase the risk of bleeding.
In one case report, a patient on warfarin had a stable international normalized ratio (INR) of 1.9-3.3 for 9 months. The patient's INR was found to be 7.1 after starting bee pollen granules one teaspoon twice daily for approximately one month. The patient's warfarin dose was decreased by approximately 11% in order to return the INR to the therapeutic range while continuing the bee pollen supplement.
