Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains one active ingredient: L-Glutamine, Fermented (also called glutamine). Glutamine is an amino acid — one of the building blocks your body uses to make protein.

It's produced naturally in your muscles and plays roles in immune function, gut health, and recovery from stress or illness. There are no inactive ingredients listed for this product.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Moderate

Some clinical evidence supports this product's ingredients for its stated purpose, but it isn't conclusive.

Why this rating?
  • The label markets this product for: Muscle recovery and post-workout fatigue.
  • We looked for evidence on: Athletic performance, Exercise-induced muscle damage, Postoperative recovery, Wound healing, Critical illness (trauma), Muscle protein synthesis — and 1 related terms.
  • The strongest evidence on file: Glutamine is rated "Possibly Effective" for Critical illness (trauma) (Natural Medicines).
  • Also on file: Glutamine is rated "Possibly Effective" for Postoperative recovery.
  • Also on file: Glutamine is rated "Possibly Ineffective" for Athletic performance.

The evidence supports glutamine as effective for sickle cell disease. For other uses — HIV/AIDS-related wasting, recovery after surgery, and critical illness from trauma — the evidence rates it as possibly effective, meaning some studies show promise but more research is needed to be sure.

The data we hold doesn't establish effectiveness for other conditions.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Glutamine is generally well tolerated when taken by mouth in healthy adults. The most common side effects are gastrointestinal: belching, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, flatulence, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.

Headache and musculoskeletal pain have also been reported. At very high doses, dizziness and headache can occur, and in rare cases, people with bipolar disorder have reported mood changes (mania or hypomania).

If you have kidney or liver disease, use glutamine only under medical supervision. There isn't enough safety data to recommend supplement doses during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless your doctor advises it.

Muscle recovery

Formula

What is Glutamine? Gutamine us the most abundant amino acid in the human body. It's essential for muscle protein synthesis, post-worked fatigue, and recovery. When your body is depleted of glutamine, such as after an intense workout, you'll want to restore your glutamine levels right afterward to help with muscle protein synthesis and reduce muscle breakdown. Why Kaged BCAAs? Many glutamine supplements on the market are from shellfish, human hair, and bird feathers which are not the best sources of L-Glutamine. Fermented L-Glutamine is the purest L-Glutamine you can buy.

Cheaply priced glutamine is generally indicative of low-quality raw materials used in manufacturing. With Micropure Glutamine by Kaged, you can be assured that you are getting high-quality free-form glutamine. 5 Grams L-Glutamine
