Amobarbital, Secobarbital falls under ANTICONVULSANTS — the group Glutamine interacts with.

Theoretically, glutamine might antagonize the effects of anticonvulsant medications.
Glutamine is metabolized to the excitatory neurotransmitter glutamate. Glutamate might have antagonistic effects with anticonvulsant drugs. However, this interaction has not yet been reported in humans.

Tuinal combines two barbiturates, amobarbital and secobarbital, that calm the brain by boosting a calming signal called GABA. They're used as sedatives and, in some cases, to help control seizures. The concern here is theoretical: your body can turn glutamine into glutamate, a brain chemical that does the opposite, it revs neurons up. In a test-tube sense, that could push against the calming, seizure-protecting effect of these drugs.

Honestly, this has never actually been reported in people, so it's more of a 'on paper' caution than something I see causing real problems. Still, if you take these barbiturates for seizure control, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before starting a glutamine supplement. Don't change anything on your own.
