Pentobarbital falls under ANTICONVULSANTS — the group Glutamine interacts with.

Theoretically, glutamine might antagonize the effects of anticonvulsant medications.
Glutamine is metabolized to the excitatory neurotransmitter glutamate. Glutamate might have antagonistic effects with anticonvulsant drugs. However, this interaction has not yet been reported in humans.

Here's the idea behind this pairing. Your body can turn glutamine into glutamate, which is one of the brain's main excitatory signals. Pentobarbital works in the opposite direction, calming brain activity to control seizures and to sedate. So in theory, loading up on glutamine could nudge the brain toward more excitement and slightly push back against what pentobarbital is trying to do, possibly making it a touch less effective.

I want to be honest with you, though: this is purely a theoretical concern based on biochemistry, and it has never actually been reported in people. For most folks, normal diet and typical supplement doses are unlikely to cause a real problem. Still, since pentobarbital is serious medicine, run any glutamine product by your pharmacist or doctor first.
