How safe is it?

These probiotics are generally well tolerated in healthy adults. However, they do come with important cautions.
All ingredients carry warnings against use in critically ill or severely immunocompromised people, since in rare cases live organisms have caused serious infections like bacteremia or sepsis in those populations. Gastrointestinal side effects—abdominal discomfort, flatulence, cramping, nausea—have been reported rarely.

Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
