HelloPharmacist Scorecard of KetoShield by KS KetoSports
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
KetoShield contains one active ingredient: phlorizin, a compound that affects how your kidneys and intestines handle blood sugar by blocking two proteins involved in glucose reabsorption. The capsule also holds inactive ingredients—gelatin, microcrystalline cellulose, modified cornstarch, magnesium stearate, and silica—that serve as binders and fillers.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
We have no effectiveness data on file for phlorizin as a supplement in people. Animal research showed it can lower blood glucose, but human evidence isn't in our database, so we can't tell you whether it actually works when you take it by mouth.
How safe is it?
Some data gaps
Human safety data on phlorizin supplements are very limited. Because of the lack of reliable safety information, the data advises against use in pregnancy and nursing—talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether it's right for you if you're pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
No adverse effects are documented in our data.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take any antidiabetes medication—insulin, metformin, sulfonylureas, SGLT2 inhibitors, or other blood sugar drugs—check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking KetoShield. Phlorizin may theoretically add to their blood-sugar-lowering effect, raising the risk of low blood sugar.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and some safety-information gaps remain.
KetoShield is a single-ingredient supplement aimed at blood sugar management, but human evidence for its effectiveness isn't established. The bigger question is whether it might lower your blood sugar too much if you're already on diabetes medication.
If you take any antidiabetes drug, check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting this product—they'll know your full picture and can advise on safety.

KetoShield by KS KetoSports Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
KetoShield by KS KetoSports contains phlorizin, which interacts with antidiabetes drugs.
Phlorizin blocks two proteins (SGLT1 and SGLT2) that normally help your kidneys and intestines manage blood sugar. In animal studies it lowered blood glucose, so theoretically it could add to the effects of your diabetes medication and raise the risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).
The catch: phlorizin barely gets absorbed when you swallow it and breaks down quickly, so whether this actually happens in real people isn't clear.

Altogether, these interactions span 86 individual medications.
If you take any diabetes drugs—insulin, metformin, sulfonylureas, SGLT2 inhibitors, or any other class—run them through the medication checker below before you start KetoShield. Your doctor or pharmacist can tell you whether the risk is real for your specific situation and whether you need dose adjustments or extra blood sugar monitoring.

For each ingredient in KetoShield with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Phlorizin
Antidiabetes Drugs
Phlorizin is a potent, nonselective inhibitor of SGLT1 and SGLT2. It has been shown to reduce blood glucose levels in animal research. Theoretically, phlorizin might have additive effects with antidiabetes drugs and increase the risk of hypoglycemia. However, the likelihood of this effect is unclear due to the poor bioavailability and rapid degradation of phlorizin. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Dose adjustments might be necessary.
Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), and others.
