Lactobacilli 300 Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by LifeLink
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Lactobacilli 300 against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Lactobacilli 300 by LifeLink
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains four active probiotic ingredients: Bifidobacterium bifidum, L. rhamnosus, L. acidophilus, and L. bulgaricus — all strains of beneficial bacteria meant to support gut health. The capsule itself is made from gelatin.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Bifidobacterium bifidum and L. acidophilus both have possibly effective evidence for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). L. acidophilus is also possibly effective for H. pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis.
L. bulgaricus has insufficient evidence for the conditions studied so far — acne, hay fever, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, asthma, fatty liver disease, and the common cold. The evidence for the product as a whole isn't established in the data we hold.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
All three checked ingredients are generally well tolerated in healthy people. However, anyone with a weakened immune system should be cautious, as there have been rare reports of serious infections (bacteremia, sepsis) in critically ill patients taking related Lactobacillus species — though these are uncommon.
Both B. bifidum and L. acidophilus list pregnancy as possibly safe, but the data are limited; talk with your doctor before use during pregnancy. Gastrointestinal side effects like bloating, flatulence, and mild abdominal discomfort are possible but uncommon.
There is no lactation data on file for any of these ingredients.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Antibiotic drugs are the main concern — they can reduce the effectiveness of the probiotics in this product. If you take an antibiotic, separate it from this product by timing; your doctor or pharmacist can help you plan the schedule.
No other medication interactions are documented for the ingredients we could check.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This probiotic may help with IBS, H. pylori, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, or bacterial vaginosis if you choose B. bifidum or L. acidophilus specifically. The big thing to watch is antibiotics — space them apart from this product so the antibiotic doesn't kill the beneficial bacteria.
If you're immunocompromised, very ill, or pregnant, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting.

General Statements
Lactobacillus acidophillus is one of several intestinal "probiotic" bacteria that assist in the digestion of proteins and inhibit pathogenic organisms. It has antifungal properties, may reduce blood cholesterol levels, increases the absorption of nutrients, and improves the digestion of lactose in milk. Low Lactobacillus concentrations can cause gas, bloating, constipation or diarrhea, poor absorption of nutrients, and over-growth of Candida..

Lactobacilli 300 by LifeLink Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
LifeLink's Lactobacilli 300 interacts with antibiotics through its Bifidobacterium bifidum, L. acidophilus, and L. bulgaricus content.
All three are live organisms that antibiotics can kill, potentially reducing how well the probiotic works. The interaction is Moderate in severity: if you take an antibiotic at the same time as this product, the antibiotic may destroy the beneficial bacteria before they can take effect.
The fix is simple — space them apart. Your doctor or pharmacist can advise you on the right timing for your specific antibiotic.

Altogethe, these interactions span 182 individual medications. We were not able to check L. rhamnosus, one of the four active ingredients, because we hold no data for it.
For the three we did check, antibiotic drugs are the only medication type with documented interactions.
