Evidence for this product's ingredients is mixed. Gokshur is rated possibly effective for sexual dysfunction, but possibly ineffective for athletic performance; we lack reliable evidence to rate it for benign prostatic hyperplasia.
Barley is rated likely effective for high cholesterol and heart disease prevention. Shilajit's effectiveness isn't established in our data—it's rated insufficient evidence across the conditions we checked (Alzheimer disease, sexual dysfunction, athletic performance, benign prostatic hyperplasia, and osteopenia).

How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Gokshur is often well tolerated short-term in healthy adults, but long-term safety data are limited. Serious but rare side effects include liver and kidney injury, seizures, and a painful erection disorder; everyday side effects—abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea—occurred at similar rates to placebo in one study.
Shilajit carries a contamination risk: unpurified products may contain heavy metals, so only use purified, tested brands. Rare serious side effects include severe allergic reactions.
Barley is well tolerated as food but contains gluten; concentrated barley supplements haven't been well studied. Most people experience only mild bloating or gas.
All three checked ingredients should be avoided in pregnancy and while breastfeeding.

Before taking Mitastone, double-check with your doctor or pharmacist if you take blood pressure medications (antihypertensives)—gokshur may lower your pressure further. Also flag diabetes medications (antidiabetes drugs) because both gokshur and shilajit may boost their sugar-lowering effect and raise low blood sugar risk.
If you take lithium, you need to confirm dosing, as gokshur might increase its levels. And if you take triclabendazole (Egaten) for a parasitic infection, check whether barley in this blend could affect it.

Gokshur
Antidiabetes Drugs
Taking tribulus with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Clinical research shows that Tribulus can lower blood glucose levels in adults with type 2 diabetes who are taking antidiabetes medications.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, taking tribulus with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.
Animal research shows that tribulus can lower blood pressure by inhibiting angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE). Tribulus has also demonstrated hypotensive effects in pre-hypertensive adults.
Lithium
Theoretically, tribulus might increase the levels and clinical effects of lithium.
Tribulus is thought to have diuretic properties. Due to these potential diuretic effects, tribulus might reduce excretion and increase levels of lithium. The dose of lithium might need to be decreased.
Shuddha Shilajit
Antidiabetes Drugs
Taking shilajit with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Most human and animal research shows that shilajit can decrease fasting plasma glucose levels. In an animal model, shilajit 100 mg per kg daily enhanced the glucose-lowering ability of both glibenclamide and metformin when given in combination over a 4 week period. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Dose adjustments might be necessary.
Yavakshar
Triclabendazole (Egaten)
Theoretically, barley might decrease the clinical effects of triclabendazole.
Animal research suggests that a diet supplemented with barley can reduce the bioavailability of triclabendazole when taken concomitantly. This effect has not been shown in humans.
