The powder also contains one inactive ingredient: pregelatinized starch.

Lactobacillus acidophilus is rated possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome, Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis. Bifidobacterium bifidum is rated possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome and respiratory tract infections.
For Bifidobacterium longum and other conditions in the formula—such as allergic rhinitis, anxiety, and cognitive decline—the evidence we hold is insufficient to establish whether they work. The data on this product's effectiveness for kids specifically is not on file.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Bifidobacterium bifidum and Lactobacillus acidophilus are both generally well tolerated in healthy people; however, those with weakened immune systems should check with their doctor first. Bifidobacterium longum is also generally well tolerated in healthy individuals but warrants caution in seriously ill or immune-compromised patients.
Gastrointestinal side effects—bloating, flatulence, abdominal discomfort, and diarrhea—are uncommon but have been reported with probiotic use. Rare cases of bacterial bloodstream infection (bacteremia) or sepsis have occurred in critically ill patients, though these are uncommon and linked to specific risk factors like serious illness or recent surgery.
For pregnancy, Bifidobacterium bifidum and Lactobacillus acidophilus are rated possibly safe; data for the other ingredients during pregnancy or breastfeeding are not on file.

Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium. bifidum with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. bifidum.
Since B. bifidum preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. bifidum preparations by at least 2 hours.
Lactobacillus acidophilus
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
Bifidobacterium longum
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium longum with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. longum.
