InnovixLabs Multi-Strain Probiotic is a 23-ingredient capsule built around two main parts: a prebiotic blend (fructooligosaccharide and arabinogalactan) that feeds beneficial bacteria, and a multi-strain probiotic blend of 15 different live bacterial species. The live strains include several Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium species — common residents of a healthy gut — plus Streptococcus thermophilus.
The prebiotics are meant to help those good bacteria thrive once they're in your system. Inactive ingredients (the capsule shell, binders, and fillers) make up the rest of the formula and don't have a therapeutic role.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for this product's effectiveness is limited. Among the individual ingredients we have data for, Lactobacillus acidophilus shows "Possibly Effective" for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), antibiotic-associated diarrhea, Helicobacter pylori infection, and bacterial vaginosis.
Bifidobacterium bifidum is rated "Possibly Effective" for IBS and respiratory tract infections. For most other claimed uses — allergic rhinitis, cognitive decline, anxiety, asthma, constipation, diabetes, and others — the evidence is rated "Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate," meaning we don't have enough reliable data to know whether these strains actually work for those purposes.
The prebiotic fibers and other strains lack established effectiveness ratings in our data.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
The live bacterial strains in this product are generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children. The most common reported side effects from the prebiotic fibers (fructooligosaccharide and arabinogalactan) are gas, bloating, and flatulence, especially at higher doses or when first starting.
These effects are usually mild, and clinical trials show that doses under 10 grams per day don't significantly increase these symptoms compared to a placebo. One important caveat: people with weakened immune systems — including those who are critically ill, immunocompromised, or have indwelling catheters — should be cautious, as rare cases of bloodstream infection (bacteremia) and sepsis from probiotic bacteria have been documented in those populations.
There isn't enough safety data on the fructooligosaccharide and arabinogalactan at supplement-level doses, so talk with your doctor before using this product. No pregnancy or breastfeeding data are on file for most of the ingredients.

The most serious documented interaction is with antibiotic drugs (Moderate severity). Because several of the probiotic strains — Bifidobacterium bifidum, Bifidobacterium longum, Lactobacillus acidophilus (both strains), Lactobacillus gasseri (both strains), and Lactobacillus helveticus — contain live organisms, taking them at the same time as antibiotics may reduce the probiotic's effectiveness.

Arabinogalactan (a prebiotic fiber in this formula) carries a Moderate interaction with immunosuppressant drugs (such as azathioprine, cyclosporine, tacrolimus, and others). It may theoretically interfere with immunosuppression therapy because of its immune-stimulating effects.
Fructooligosaccharide and Streptococcus thermophilus have no documented interactions in our data. Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium. bifidum with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. bifidum.
Since B. bifidum preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. bifidum preparations by at least 2 hours.
Bifidobacterium longum SD5844
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium longum with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. longum.
Since B. longum preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. longum preparations by at least 2 hours.
Lactobacillus acidophilus LA02 DSM-21717
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
Lactobacillus gasseri Lg-36 SD-5585
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus gasseri with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. gasseri.

Lactobacillus helveticus SD-5861

Arabinogalactan
Immunosuppressants
Theoretically, larch arabinogalactan might interfere with immunosuppression therapy due to immunostimulant effects. Immunosuppressant drugs include azathioprine (Imuran), basiliximab (Simulect), cyclosporine (Neoral, Sandimmune), daclizumab (Zenapax), muromonab-CD3 (OKT3, Orthoclone OKT3), mycophenolate (CellCept), tacrolimus (FK506, Prograf), sirolimus (Rapamune), prednisone (Deltasone, Orasone), corticosteroids (glucocorticoids), and other drugs.
