Short-term use of fulvic acid appears generally well tolerated, though high-quality human safety data is limited. The most common side effects from trial evidence are diarrhea, headache, and sore throat.

Clove is safe as a food spice but can be irritating or toxic in large concentrated doses; medicinal amounts and essential oils carry serious risks, especially in children. Neem leaf preparations are likely safe short-term for adults, but neem oil and seed extracts can be toxic if swallowed, causing cardiac problems and kidney damage in rare cases.

Wormwood contains thujone, a neurotoxin; short-term use of properly prepared products may be acceptable, but higher amounts can cause kidney toxicity, seizures, and muscle breakdown.
