Does it work?

For Bifidobacterium bifidum, the evidence suggests it may help with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and respiratory tract infections, though the data isn't conclusive. For hay fever, Alzheimer disease, and generalized anxiety, evidence is too thin to say whether it works.
Burdock and chicory root extract have not been reliably studied for the conditions listed in this product, so we can't say whether they're effective based on the data we hold. The effectiveness of Lactobacillus plantarum and Jerusalem Artichoke isn't established in our records either.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Bifidobacterium bifidum is generally well tolerated in healthy people, though those with weakened immune systems should be cautious. A very rare case of vomiting and fever was reported in a child taking B. bifidum with another probiotic, but it's unclear if the probiotics caused it.
Burdock is likely safe as a food or for short-term use in healthy adults, though serious allergic reactions including anaphylaxis are rare. A single case of liver injury was reported with a detox tea containing burdock and other ingredients, but causation is unclear.
Chicory is generally well tolerated in food amounts but can cause gas, bloating, and belching in some people. Occupational exposure to chicory dust has triggered asthma and allergic reactions in sensitive individuals.
During pregnancy, burdock should be avoided in medicinal amounts due to lack of safety data and possible effects on the uterus; chicory may stimulate the uterus, so medicinal amounts are best avoided. For lactation, burdock and chicory safety data are limited — avoid medicinal amounts.
Bifidobacterium bifidum is rated possibly safe in pregnancy, though lactation data aren't on file.

Probiotic Blend
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
Burdock
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, taking burdock with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs might increase the risk of bleeding.
In vitro research shows that lignans from burdock reduce rabbit platelet aggregation by inhibiting platelet activating factor. This interaction has not been reported in humans.
Chicory Root Extract
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, chicory might increase the risk of hypoglycemia when taken with antidiabetes drugs.
Animal and in vitro research shows that chicory extracts have antidiabetic effects.
