Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This capsule contains 5 active probiotic ingredients: Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus casei, Saccharomyces boulardii, and Streptococcus thermophilus. These are live microorganisms designed to support digestive and gut health.
The supplement also contains inactive ingredients — vegetable cellulose capsule material, cellulose, vegetarian stearate, and silica — that help hold and deliver the formula.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Lactobacillus acidophilus is possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome, Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis. Saccharomyces boulardii is possibly effective for rotaviral diarrhea, travelers' diarrhea, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, necrotizing enterocolitis, Clostridioides difficile infection, and Helicobacter pylori.
Streptococcus thermophilus has insufficient reliable evidence for the conditions studied so far — we simply don't have enough data yet. For Lactobacillus rhamnosus and Lactobacillus casei, effectiveness data isn't on file.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lactobacillus acidophilus is generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children, though mild gastrointestinal side effects like bloating, gas, or abdominal discomfort can occur — these are uncommon. Saccharomyces boulardii should be avoided if you're critically ill or have a weakened immune system, as rare cases of fungemia (yeast infection in the bloodstream) have been reported in those populations.
Streptococcus thermophilus is generally well tolerated in healthy people but warrants caution in those with weakened immunity. Probiotics are generally thought to carry low risk, but limited safety data exist, so check with your doctor before starting, especially if you're pregnant, nursing, critically ill, or immunocompromised.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this product, check with your doctor or pharmacist if you use antibiotic drugs — they can reduce how well this probiotic works, and you may need to space them apart. Also flag any antifungal medications you're on.
If you're on other medications or have a weakened immune system, confirm it's okay first.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This probiotic may help with IBS, traveler's diarrhea, and antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and is generally well tolerated in healthy adults. If you take antibiotics or antifungals, you'll need to separate the timing from this supplement to avoid reducing its effect.
People who are critically ill, immunocompromised, or pregnant or nursing should talk with their doctor or pharmacist before using it.

Probiotic 25 Billion by Freeda Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Freeda's Probiotic 25 Billion contains live organisms that interact with certain medication types.
The most serious concern is with antibiotic drugs through its Lactobacillus acidophilus content — antibiotics can kill off a significant number of the live bacteria in the supplement, which may reduce its effectiveness. Lactobacillus rhamnosus and Lactobacillus casei could not be checked, as we hold no interaction data for them.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Saccharomyces boulardii, another ingredient here, has a minor interaction with antifungals — similar to the antibiotic issue, antifungal medications might kill the live yeast and lower the supplement's benefit. Streptococcus thermophilus was checked and has no interactions documented in our data.
Altogether, these interactions span 222 individual medications.
If you take antibiotics or antifungals, the key is timing: separate when you take them from when you take this probiotic to give each one a better chance to work. Check your exact medications with the tool on this page, and talk with your doctor or pharmacist about the best schedule before you start.
