Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This formula contains 12 active probiotic ingredients — live beneficial bacterial strains that support digestive health. The main players are two Lactobacillus acidophilus strains (LA-14 and NCFM), Bifidobacterium longum (BI-26), and eight others including Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Bifidobacterium animalis, and Lactobacillus plantarum.
Together they deliver 50 billion colony-forming units (CFU) per capsule. The capsule itself is made from inactive ingredients including microcrystalline cellulose, hypromellose, gellan gum, and medium chain triglyceride — these are binders and capsule materials, not active components.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for Lactobacillus acidophilus (two of your 12 strains) shows it's possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome, Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis. For Bifidobacterium longum, though — the other strain we have data on — the evidence isn't established yet for the conditions it's been studied in, including allergic rhinitis, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, anxiety, and asthma.
For the other eight probiotic strains in this formula, we don't hold effectiveness data.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium longum are both generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children. Uncommon gastrointestinal side effects can include abdominal discomfort, bloating, flatulence, diarrhea, and burping — usually mild.
Rare cases of infection (bacteremia or sepsis) have been reported in the medical literature, though most occurred in critically ill or immune-compromised patients. One clinical trial reported two cases of rash and one case of itching, though it wasn't clear if the probiotics themselves were responsible.
For pregnancy, Lactobacillus acidophilus is rated possibly safe. For Bifidobacterium longum, both pregnancy and lactation are rated possibly safe, though the data are limited and you should check with your doctor before use while breastfeeding.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take any antibiotic drug — Moderate interaction: antibiotics can kill the live organisms in this probiotic, making it less effective. Separate the timing of your antibiotic and the probiotic by a few hours.
Check with your pharmacist on the exact spacing that works for your prescription.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
If you have IBS, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, or certain bacterial infections and want to try probiotics, this formula has some evidence behind it — especially for the Lactobacillus acidophilus strains. If you're on antibiotics, timing matters: space out when you take them and the probiotics so the antibiotic doesn't kill off the beneficial bugs.
If you're seriously ill or immune-compromised, check with your doctor first. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting, especially if you take medications or have health concerns.
