What’s inside
Full disclosure
Pure African Mango is a single-ingredient powder: African mango seed extract (Irvingia gabonensis). There are no other active ingredients.
The product contains no inactive ingredients listed.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence for African mango isn't established in our data. The facts we hold show insufficient reliable evidence to rate it for diabetes, high cholesterol, obesity, or metabolic syndrome — meaning human studies are either lacking or don't yet show clear benefit.
That doesn't mean it doesn't work; it means we don't have solid proof yet.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
African mango is generally well tolerated in short-term studies, though long-term safety and product quality aren't well established. The most common side effects reported orally are flatulence, headache, insomnia, and nausea.
One rare case of liver inflammation (acute hepatitis) has been reported after ten days of use, though it's not clear whether the supplement caused it or whether it was coincidence. The safety data advises against using African mango during pregnancy.
There isn't enough information to know whether it's safe while breastfeeding, so talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized advice if you're nursing or planning to nurse.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this product, check with your doctor or pharmacist if you take antidiabetes drugs (blood sugar risk) or testosterone products (possible additive effects). Both are Moderate-severity interactions that may need monitoring or dose changes.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Pure African Mango may be of interest if you're looking for a single-ingredient supplement, but the evidence for how well it works isn't established yet. If you take antidiabetes medication or testosterone products, you'll want to check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting — the interactions are real and may require dose adjustments.

Pure African Mango by Micro Ingredients Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Pure African Mango by Micro Ingredients contains African mango (Irvingia gabonensis), which has documented interactions with two major drug categories.
The most serious concern is with antidiabetes drugs — African mango can lower blood sugar, and when combined with these medications, it may increase the risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). Human research confirms this effect, so if you take antidiabetes medication, your blood sugar will need close monitoring and your dose may need adjusting.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
African mango also interacts with testosterone products. Animal research suggests it may raise testosterone levels, and combining it with testosterone medications could cause additive effects.
Until we know more about how this works, caution is advised if you're taking testosterone.
Altogether, these interactions span 94 individual medications. Before you start this supplement, check your exact medications using the search tool below — especially if you take anything for diabetes or testosterone replacement.
