What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product has one active ingredient: phosphatidylserine, a naturally occurring compound found in cell membranes. The capsule also contains methylcellulose as an inactive ingredient (a thickening agent).
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Phosphatidylserine is possibly effective for age-related memory loss and Alzheimer's disease based on available evidence. For athletic performance, ADHD, general cognitive function, and other forms of dementia, the evidence isn't yet strong enough to rate whether it works.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Phosphatidylserine is generally well tolerated in the studies we have. The most common side effects are flatulence, stomach upset, headache, insomnia, and nausea—especially at higher doses or when taking 200–300 mg daily or more.
Insomnia is more likely at 600 mg. Long-term safety hasn't been fully studied.
The safety data advises against use during pregnancy and while breastfeeding because there isn't enough information to know it's safe in those situations. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before using it if you're pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this supplement, check with your doctor or pharmacist if you use anticholinergic drugs (like those for overactive bladder or Parkinson's disease) or cholinergic drugs (like those prescribed for myasthenia gravis or Alzheimer's disease). Both medication types have Moderate interactions with phosphatidylserine.

Pure Phosphatidyl Serine by Intelligent Labs Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Pure Phosphatidyl Serine by Intelligent Labs contains phosphatidylserine, which has documented interactions with two medication types.
The most serious concern is with anticholinergic drugs (medications that block certain nerve signals)—phosphatidylserine may decrease how well these drugs work. This happens because phosphatidylserine is thought to raise levels of acetylcholine, a chemical messenger that anticholinergic drugs are designed to block.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Phosphatidylserine also has a Moderate interaction with cholinergic drugs (medications that mimic or enhance acetylcholine activity). Because phosphatidylserine increases acetylcholine, combining it with cholinergic drugs could intensify their effects unpredictably.
Altogether, these interactions span 219 individual medications.
Before you start this supplement, run your exact medications through the checker on this page. If you take anything for overactive bladder, Parkinson's disease, nerve pain, or any other condition involving acetylcholine, talk it over with your doctor or pharmacist first.
