Regenesis Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Regenesis against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Regenesis by Guardian Health
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Regenesis is a 6-ingredient probiotic capsule. The active ingredients are six probiotic bacterial strains: Lactobacillus salivarius, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus gasseri, and Lactobacillus acidophilus.
These are live microorganisms meant to support gut health. The inactive ingredients are brown rice flour, gelatin, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, and water — these are excipients that form and stabilize the capsule.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for these probiotics is mixed. Bifidobacterium bifidum and Lactobacillus acidophilus are both possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
Lactobacillus acidophilus is also possibly effective for Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis. Bifidobacterium bifidum shows possibly effective evidence for respiratory tract infections as well.
For most other conditions — hay fever, asthma, common cold, diarrhea, and several others — the evidence isn't established, meaning we don't have enough reliable data to say whether these probiotics work or don't.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
These probiotics are generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children, though the safety data are limited. People with weakened immune systems should be cautious, and you should check with your doctor before starting, especially if you have a compromised immune system or serious underlying illness.
Gastrointestinal side effects like bloating, flatulence, abdominal discomfort, and rarely vomiting or diarrhea have been reported with probiotic use, though these are uncommon. Bifidobacterium bifidum is possibly safe in pregnancy; however, we don't have enough data on Lactobacillus gasseri or the other strains to know whether they're safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding — talk to your doctor or pharmacist for personalized guidance on that.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before you start Regenesis, check with your doctor or pharmacist if you take antibiotic drugs — the antibiotics may reduce how well the probiotics work. Spacingout your doses can help.
No other medication interactions are documented for the ingredients we could check.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Regenesis is a multi-strain probiotic that may help with IBS and some other gut-related conditions, though the evidence for many uses isn't established yet. If you take antibiotics, you'll need to separate them from this supplement by a few hours so the antibiotic doesn't kill off the live probiotics.
If you have a weakened immune system or are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk with your doctor or pharmacist first to make sure it's right for you.

Regenesis by Guardian Health Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Guardian Health's Regenesis contains several probiotic strains, and through its Bifidobacterium bifidum, Lactobacillus gasseri, and Lactobacillus acidophilus content, it interacts with antibiotic drugs.
All three of these probiotics may lose effectiveness when taken alongside antibiotics, since the antibiotics can kill the live organisms in the probiotic preparation. Altogether, these interactions span 182 individual medications.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
The interaction with antibiotics is rated Moderate for each of the three strains. Because probiotics contain living microorganisms, simultaneous dosing with antibiotics might eliminate a significant portion of them before they can work.
The solution is straightforward: space out your antibiotic and this probiotic supplement by a few hours — your doctor or pharmacist can advise you on the exact timing that works best.
We were unable to check three other probiotic strains in this product — Lactobacillus salivarius, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, and Lactobacillus casei — because we hold no interaction data for them. That doesn't mean they're free of interactions; it means we haven't gathered the information yet.
If you take any prescription medications, run them through the checker on this page before you start.

Probiotic Blend
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
