Sml Capsules Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Sml Capsules against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Sml Capsules by Loomis Enzymes
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Sml Capsules contains 11 active ingredients: a mix of digestive enzymes (Amylase, Cellulase, Glucoamylase, Hemicellulase, Alpha-Galactosidase, and Phytase) and live-culture probiotics (Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus paracasei, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus casei, and Bifidobacterium animalis lactis). The enzymes are meant to help break down carbohydrates, fiber, and other food components; the probiotics are meant to support gut health and digestion.
The capsule also contains inactive ingredients — cellulose, water, and fructooligosaccharides — which are fillers and binders that help hold the formula together.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
Lactobacillus acidophilus, one of the probiotics in this product, is rated Possibly Effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis. The same ingredient is rated Possibly Ineffective for atopic disease (eczema and related conditions), and the evidence is Insufficient to Rate it for acute respiratory distress syndrome.
We have no effectiveness data on file for the other ingredients in this product — the other probiotics, the digestive enzymes, or the enzyme blends. That doesn't mean they don't work; it means the evidence we hold doesn't establish their effectiveness for any condition.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lactobacillus acidophilus is generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children. Gastrointestinal side effects — such as stomach discomfort, abdominal pain, indigestion, gas, bloating, diarrhea, vomiting, and burping — can happen when you take it with other probiotics, though these are uncommon.
Rarely, the live organisms can translocate (spread) to other parts of the body and cause serious infection, but this happens mainly in people with underlying health problems or weak immune systems. We have no pregnancy or breastfeeding safety data on file for any ingredient in this product.
If you're pregnant, nursing, or planning to breastfeed, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take antibiotic drugs, check with your pharmacist about the timing — take your antibiotic a few hours apart from this product so the antibiotic doesn't kill the live probiotics and reduce the supplement's effect. We could not check the other eight ingredients for medication interactions because we hold no data for them.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This is a digestive enzyme and probiotic blend. If you have IBS, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, or certain infections, the Lactobacillus acidophilus in it is possibly effective.
If you're on antibiotics, space them out from this product so the medication doesn't kill the beneficial bacteria. Talk to your pharmacist before starting, especially if you have a weakened immune system or you're pregnant or nursing.

Sml Capsules by Loomis Enzymes Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Sml Capsules by Loomis Enzymes contains 11 ingredients, of which we could only check Lactobacillus acidophilus for drug interactions.
That ingredient does interact with one medication type: antibiotic drugs.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Lactobacillus acidophilus is a live, active organism. When you take antibiotics at the same time, the antibiotics can kill a significant portion of the beneficial bacteria in the supplement, which may reduce how well the probiotic works.
This is a Moderate-severity interaction. The solution is straightforward — separate when you take them, ideally by a few hours.
We could not check the other nine ingredients (Amylase, Cellulase, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus paracasei, Glucoamylase, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Hemicellulase, Bifidobacterium animalis lactis, Alpha-Galactosidase, and Lactobacillus casei) because we hold no interaction data for them. That doesn't mean they don't interact with anything — it means we haven't reviewed them for this product.
Altogether, these interactions span 182 individual medications. Use the medication checker on this page to see if any of your prescriptions or over-the-counter drugs are affected, and talk to your pharmacist about timing if you're on antibiotics.
