How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Shilajit must be purified and tested, because unpurified versions may contain heavy metals or other contaminants. Rare but serious reactions to shilajit have been reported, including an allergic reaction that progressed to anaphylaxis (a life-threatening reaction), and a case of severely high blood pressure.
Barley is generally well tolerated as food but contains gluten; it can cause bloating, gas, and allergic reactions in sensitive people. Tribulus is usually well tolerated in the short term, though rare cases of liver and kidney injury, seizures, and other serious effects have been reported.
For pregnancy: shilajit and tribulus are best avoided due to insufficient safety data and potential hormone effects. Barley as food is considered fine in pregnancy, but concentrated supplements lack study.
For breastfeeding: avoid shilajit and tribulus due to lack of safety data; barley supplements are not well studied either.

Check your medications if you take antidiabetes drugs (insulin, metformin, glibenclamide, or similar), because both shilajit and tribulus may lower blood sugar further. If you take blood pressure medications (antihypertensives), tribulus may lower pressure more than intended.
If you take lithium for mood, tribulus may increase its levels. If you take triclabendazole (Egaten) for parasites, barley may reduce how well you absorb it.

Gokhshur
Antidiabetes Drugs
Taking tribulus with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Clinical research shows that Tribulus can lower blood glucose levels in adults with type 2 diabetes who are taking antidiabetes medications.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, taking tribulus with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.
Animal research shows that tribulus can lower blood pressure by inhibiting angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE). Tribulus has also demonstrated hypotensive effects in pre-hypertensive adults.
Lithium
Theoretically, tribulus might increase the levels and clinical effects of lithium.
Tribulus is thought to have diuretic properties. Due to these potential diuretic effects, tribulus might reduce excretion and increase levels of lithium. The dose of lithium might need to be decreased.
Shuddha Shilajit
Antidiabetes Drugs
Taking shilajit with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Most human and animal research shows that shilajit can decrease fasting plasma glucose levels. In an animal model, shilajit 100 mg per kg daily enhanced the glucose-lowering ability of both glibenclamide and metformin when given in combination over a 4 week period. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Dose adjustments might be necessary.
Yavakshar
Triclabendazole (Egaten)
Theoretically, barley might decrease the clinical effects of triclabendazole.
Animal research suggests that a diet supplemented with barley can reduce the bioavailability of triclabendazole when taken concomitantly. This effect has not been shown in humans.
