SuperGLU Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by Syntrax
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking SuperGLU against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
SuperGLU is a single-ingredient powder containing L-glutamine, an amino acid (a building block your body uses to make proteins). That's all there is to the active ingredient — no fillers or other active compounds added.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
Glutamine is rated effective for sickle cell disease. It's rated possibly effective for HIV/AIDS-related wasting, postoperative recovery (healing after surgery), and critical illness from trauma.
The evidence we hold doesn't cover other uses you might see claimed for glutamine supplements.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
L-glutamine is generally well tolerated in healthy adults. The most common side effects from oral doses are belching, bloating, constipation, cough, diarrhea, flatulence, gastrointestinal pain, headache, musculoskeletal pain, nausea, and vomiting — mostly digestive complaints, especially at higher doses (10–30 grams daily).
If you have kidney or liver disease, use this supplement only under medical supervision. Pregnancy and lactation data rates glutamine as likely safe, but there isn't enough reliable safety information for supplemental doses while breastfeeding unless your doctor recommends it.
A small number of people with bipolar disorder taking glutamine have reported mania or hypomania; if you have a mood disorder, check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Anticonvulsants (seizure medications) are the main concern — glutamine might theoretically reduce how well they work, though this hasn't been seen in actual patients yet. Check your exact medications and any neurological conditions with your doctor or pharmacist before taking SuperGLU.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with clinical evidence supporting its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
SuperGLU may help with sickle cell disease or recovery from surgery and critical illness, though the evidence for those last two is still developing. If you take any anticonvulsant medication or have kidney or liver disease, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before adding this — the same goes if you have bipolar disorder or are breastfeeding.

Formula
SuperGLU is an ultra-pure, micronized glutamine powder that solves all of the issues facing other glutamines on the market. By containing 100% natural glutamine powder, SuperGLU eliminates the unknown and harmful impurities associated with synthetic glutamine.
Glutamine is the most abundant free amino acid in the body and is present in high concentrations in the immune system, digestive tract and muscle cells. Over time, however, these glutamine levels can be depleted by strenuous exercise, infections, injuries and prolonged stress. Each 5 gram serving of SuperGLU disperses and suspends instantly in solution and helps to restore the body's diminished reserves of glutamine, providing optimal health and muscle recovery.

HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
SuperGLU by Syntrax contains L-glutamine, which has one documented interaction category: anticonvulsants (seizure medications).
Theoretically, glutamine might work against anticonvulsant drugs because it's broken down into glutamate, an excitatory brain chemical that could counteract how seizure medications work. However, this interaction has not yet been reported in actual patients — it's a theoretical concern based on how the ingredient is metabolized.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Additionally, no interactions are documented for the ingredients we could check beyond that single drug type. Altogether, these interactions span 50 individual medications.
If you take an anticonvulsant or any other prescription medication, run it through the checker below before adding this supplement so you and your doctor or pharmacist can review your specific drugs.
