TestoPlex Plus Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by XYMOGEN
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking TestoPlex Plus against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
TestoPlex Plus contains 2 active ingredients. PrimaVie is a purified form of shilajit, a mineral-rich compound traditionally used in ayurvedic medicine.
LJ100 is eurycoma longifolia (also called Tongkat Ali), an herbal extract from the roots of the plant. The product also includes several inactive ingredients — hypromellose, microcrystalline cellulose, dicalcium phosphate dihydrate, ascorbyl palmitate (a form of vitamin C), silica, and water — which serve as capsule material, binders, and preservatives.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for what these ingredients actually do is mixed and limited. For eurycoma longifolia, sexual desire is rated possibly effective — some studies support its use for that purpose.
However, athletic performance is rated possibly ineffective. For shilajit (PrimaVie), we don't have enough reliable evidence to rate it for sexual dysfunction, athletic performance, Alzheimer disease, benign prostatic hyperplasia, or osteopenia.
Neither ingredient has solid proof it works for the conditions this product implies it treats, so talk with your pharmacist about what the research actually shows for your specific goal.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Shilajit is generally well tolerated, but there's an important caveat: unpurified products may contain heavy metals or contaminants, so stick with purified, tested brands only — XYMOGEN products are typically third-party tested, which is good. Eurycoma longifolia is also generally well tolerated in short-term studies, though long-term safety is uncertain.
The main rare side effects documented are allergy (including a reported case of anaphylaxis) and headache with shilajit. Because eurycoma longifolia may raise testosterone, there's a theoretical risk of testosterone-related side effects — acne, insulin resistance, liver stress — if your levels climb too high.
During pregnancy, shilajit should be avoided due to contamination risk and insufficient safety data; a case report links it to severe high blood pressure (mineralocorticoid-excess syndrome) in one pregnant woman. Eurycoma longifolia should also be avoided in pregnancy because of insufficient data and possible hormonal effects.
While breastfeeding, safety data for shilajit is unknown, so avoid it; eurycoma longifolia has no reliable safety information either, so it's best avoided as well.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before you take TestoPlex Plus, check with your pharmacist if you're on antidiabetes drugs (like metformin or glibenclamide) — shilajit may lower your blood sugar further. Also flag propranolol (Inderal) or other beta-blockers, since eurycoma longifolia can weaken their effect.
Less commonly, if you take drugs metabolized by CYP1A2, CYP2C19, or CYP2A6 enzymes, or if you're on testosterone therapy, mention this product as well.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
TestoPlex Plus is most relevant if you're interested in sexual function support and willing to accept that evidence is sparse. If you take diabetes medication or propranolol, you need to talk with your pharmacist before starting this product — the interactions are real and could affect how your drugs work.
Avoid it entirely during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

TestoPlex Plus by XYMOGEN Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
TestoPlex Plus by XYMOGEN contains two active ingredients, and together they interact with a significant number of medications.
The most serious concern is shilajit (PrimaVie), which can increase the risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) when combined with antidiabetes drugs — animal studies show it enhances the glucose-lowering effect of metformin and glibenclamide, so if you take diabetes medication, your blood sugar may drop further than expected.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Eurycoma longifolia (LJ100) has a separate moderate-severity interaction: it can reduce the effectiveness of propranolol (Inderal), a beta-blocker used for heart rate and blood pressure. Additionally, eurycoma longifolia theoretically may increase levels of several enzyme-processed drugs — CYP1A2 substrates, CYP2C19 substrates, CYP2A6 substrates — though these effects have not been confirmed in humans.
It may also raise testosterone levels further if you're already taking testosterone.
Altogether, these interactions span 332 individual medications. Because that's a large number, we strongly recommend checking your exact medications with the search tool on this page before you start.

LJ100
Propranolol (Inderal)
Eurycoma longifolia can reduce the levels and clinical effects of propranolol.
A small clinical study in healthy persons shows that taking a single dose of a water-based Eurycoma longifolia extract 200 mg, in combination with a single dose of propranolol 80 mg, reduces the propranolol area under the curve (AUC) by 29%, reduces the peak concentration by 42%, and increases time to peak concentration by 86% when compared with control. Since the elimination half-life of propranolol did not change, it seems that Eurycoma longifolia alters the kinetics of propranolol by decreasing its absorption in the gut, and not by altering its metabolism. It is not known if separating administration will prevent this interaction.
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, Eurycoma longifolia might increase levels CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that methanolic Eurycoma longifolia root extract weakly inhibits CYP1A2 enzymes. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2A6 (Cyp2A6) Substrates
Theoretically, Eurycoma longifolia might increase levels of CYP2A6 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that methanolic Eurycoma longifolia root extract weakly inhibits CYP2A6 enzymes. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2C19 (Cyp2C19) Substrates
Theoretically, Eurycoma longifolia might increase levels of CYP2C19 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that methanolic Eurycoma longifolia root extract weakly inhibits CYP2C19 enzymes. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Testosterone
Theoretically, Eurycoma longifolia may further increase levels of testosterone.
A clinical study in aging males with testosterone levels below 300 ng/dL shows that taking a specific water extract of Eurycoma longifolia roots (Physta; Biotropics Malaysia) 100-200 mg daily with breakfast for 12 weeks increases total testosterone levels by 8% to 11% when compared with placebo. It is unclear whether this increase would occur in individuals with normal testosterone levels.
PrimaVie
Antidiabetes Drugs
Taking shilajit with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Most human and animal research shows that shilajit can decrease fasting plasma glucose levels. In an animal model, shilajit 100 mg per kg daily enhanced the glucose-lowering ability of both glibenclamide and metformin when given in combination over a 4 week period. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Dose adjustments might be necessary.
