For most of the other conditions the ingredient data covers — including allergic rhinitis, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, anxiety, asthma, and cognitive decline — the evidence we hold is insufficient to rate whether these bacteria work. How safe is it?
Well-documented data
The probiotic bacteria in this formula are generally well tolerated in healthy infants, but caution is advised for babies who are very ill or have weakened immune systems — talk with your pediatrician before use if that applies. Rare but serious cases of bacterial bloodstream infection (bacteremia) related to Bifidobacterium species have been reported in critically ill or preterm infants using probiotics; in one reviewed study of hospitalized preterm and term infants given Bifidobacterium breve, bacteremia occurred in 2% of patients.
Milder side effects such as bloating, flatulence, abdominal discomfort, or constipation have been reported rarely with probiotic use. Safety data are limited, so use this product only under your doctor's guidance.
Bifidobacterium longum is rated possibly safe in pregnancy and lactation; data for the other bacteria in this formula are either insufficient or not on file.

Suggested Use: For children over 12 months: 1 scoop, once or twice daily. For infants 6 to 12 months: 1 scoop daily. For breast-feeding mothers, product can be added to expressed milk, or small amounts at a time can be dispensed by placing on nipple or finger.
