Indole Forte Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by Klaire Labs
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Indole Forte against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Indole Forte by Klaire Labs
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Indole Forte has 2 active ingredients: diindolylmethane and indole-3-carbinol. Both are compounds naturally found in cruciferous vegetables like broccoli and cabbage, and this product concentrates them in capsule form.
The remaining ingredients are inactive — hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, water, microcrystalline cellulose, ascorbyl palmitate, and silicon dioxide — they're mostly fillers and binders that hold the capsule together.
Does it work?
Not established
The evidence for what these ingredients actually do is limited. We have insufficient reliable evidence to rate diindolylmethane or indole-3-carbinol for benign prostate enlargement, breast cancer, colorectal cancer, cervical dysplasia, or breast pain (mastalgia).
Indole-3-carbinol also lacks solid evidence for liver disease or fibromyalgia. So while these are concentrated forms of vegetable compounds, we don't yet have the research to say they're effective for any specific condition.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Both ingredients are generally well tolerated in short-term studies, but long-term safety isn't well established. The most common side effects are mild: diarrhea, nausea, gas, headache, rash, and vomiting.
A rare serious side effect called DRESS (a drug rash with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms) has been reported with diindolylmethane. Indole-3-carbinol can cause unsteadiness and tremor, especially at higher doses — one person taking 400 mg twice daily developed these symptoms after 10 days; they improved when the dose was cut in half.
For pregnancy, diindolylmethane is rated likely safe. Indole-3-carbinol has insufficient safety data in pregnancy, so talk with your OB or pharmacist for personalized advice.
Neither ingredient should be used while breastfeeding — the data either isn't there or advises against it.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking Indole Forte, check with your pharmacist if you take blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs (warfarin, aspirin, clopidogrel) — there's a Moderate risk of increased bleeding. Also confirm you're not on estrogen therapy or hormone replacement therapy, water pills that lower sodium, or medications metabolized by CYP1A2 (such as certain migraine drugs or theophylline).
Use the search tool on this page with your exact medication names.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Indole Forte is a concentrated source of compounds from cruciferous vegetables, but we don't yet have solid evidence it works for specific conditions. It's most important to check it against your medications — especially blood thinners, hormone therapy, water pills, and certain migraine or heart drugs.
If you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking any prescription medication, talk with your pharmacist or doctor first.

Formulation
Free of the following common allergens: Milk/casein, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, gluten, and soybeans. Contains no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives.
Produced under a strict quality management system in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and third-party quality certifications.
Suggested/Recommended/Usage/Directions
Suggested use: 1 capsule, 1 to 2 times daily or as directed by a healthcare professional.
Formula
Indole Forte contains a mixture of two important dietary indoles, indole-3-carbino (l3C) and diindolylmethane (DIM). Since l3C undergows biochemical transformation to related indole metabolites, broad-spectrum indoles may be present upon ingestion.

Indole Forte by Klaire Labs Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Indole Forte from Klaire Labs contains two active ingredients that both interact with medications.
The most serious interaction is with blood thinners and antiplatelet drugs (like warfarin, aspirin, clopidogrel) — indole-3-carbinol may increase bleeding risk by slowing how platelets clump together. This is a Moderate severity concern.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Both ingredients can also interfere with estrogen therapy or hormone replacement therapy. Diindolylmethane may either boost or reduce estrogen effects; indole-3-carbinol appears to work against estrogen.
Additionally, both ingredients can speed up how your liver breaks down certain medications (CYP1A2 substrates — examples include some migraine drugs, theophylline, and some blood pressure or antipsychotic medications), potentially lowering their effectiveness. Diindolylmethane's effect here is Minor; indole-3-carbinol's is Moderate.
Diindolylmethane also carries a Moderate risk of low sodium (hyponatremia) if you take water pills (sodium-depleting diuretics), especially at high doses.
Altogether, these interactions span 365 individual medications. Use the medication checker below to look up your specific drugs before you start this product.

Diindolylmethane
Diuretic Drugs
Theoretically, diindolylmethane might increase the risk of hyponatremia if used with sodium-depleting diuretics.
Large doses of diindolylmethane (600 mg daily) have been associated with two cases of asymptomatic hyponatremia in clinical research.
Estrogens
Theoretically, diindolylmethane might increase or decrease the effects of estrogens.
Diindolylmethane might have mild estrogenic or antiestrogenic effects. Theoretically, large amounts of diindolylmethane might interfere with hormone replacement therapy.
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, diindolylmethane might lower serum levels of CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro evidence suggests that diindolylmethane can induce CYP1A2. Theoretically, it might increase metabolism of CYP1A2 substrates and lower serum concentrations. This interaction has not been reported in humans.
