Thyroid Support Powder Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by TerraVita Premium Collection
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Thyroid Support Powder against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Thyroid Support Powder by TerraVita Premium Collection
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This powder contains three active ingredients. Bugleweed is traditionally used for thyroid concerns, though evidence for its effectiveness is insufficient.
Motherwort has some evidence supporting its use for bleeding, but evidence for other uses like anxiety is insufficient. Lemon balm shows possibly effective evidence for cold sores, stress, and depression.
The product has no inactive fillers listed.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for this product's effectiveness is mixed and limited. Lemon balm has possibly effective evidence for cold sores, stress, and depression.
Motherwort has possibly effective evidence for bleeding. Bugleweed, motherwort for anxiety and other conditions, and all three ingredients for their traditional uses related to thyroid or hormonal support lack sufficient reliable evidence to establish whether they work.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Motherwort and lemon balm are generally well tolerated for short-term use in healthy adults, though long-term safety isn't well studied. Motherwort may cause diarrhea or stomach irritation when taken orally, and contact dermatitis or photosensitivity if applied to skin.
Lemon balm may occasionally cause dizziness or sedation, though these don't appear to occur more often than with placebo. Both bugleweed and motherwort should not be used during pregnancy — the evidence advises against it.
Bugleweed should also be avoided while breastfeeding because it may reduce milk production. For lemon balm in pregnancy, there isn't enough data to know either way; talk with your doctor before using it.
For breastfeeding, there's limited safety information available — discuss this with your healthcare provider before use.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before you start, check whether you take thyroid hormones (levothyroxine, liothyronine, and others) — bugleweed and lemon balm may reduce their effect. Also double-check if you use central nervous system depressants like sedatives, sleep aids, or opioid pain relievers — motherwort and lemon balm may add to their drowsiness effect.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
If you take thyroid medication or sedating drugs, talk with your pharmacist before using this product — the interactions could matter for how well your medications work. Avoid it during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless your doctor specifically advises otherwise.
For anyone else considering it, know that the evidence for whether it actually works is insufficient or limited.

Thyroid Support Powder by TerraVita Premium Collection Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
TerraVita Premium Collection Thyroid Support Powder contains three active ingredients, two of which have documented interactions with medications.
The most serious concern is with thyroid hormone replacement therapy — both bugleweed and lemon balm may interfere with how your thyroid medication works. Bugleweed can reduce the conversion of thyroxine (T4) to its active form, triiodothyronine (T3), potentially lowering your medication's effect.
Lemon balm may also interfere with thyroid hormone replacement through a separate mechanism.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Additionally, both motherwort and lemon balm interact with central nervous system (CNS) depressants — medications that slow brain activity, like sedatives, sleep aids, and certain pain relievers. Taking this powder with those drugs may increase drowsiness and sedation.
Although we could not check the inactive ingredients, we hold no interaction data for them. Altogether, these interactions span 264 individual medications.
If you take any thyroid medication or CNS depressants, use the medication checker on this page before adding this product.

For each ingredient in Thyroid Support Powder with known interactions, here are the types of medications they can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Lemon Balm, Powder
Cns Depressants
Theoretically, concomitant use of lemon balm might have additive effects with CNS depressant drugs.
Lemon balm seems to have CNS depressant activity in animals and in humans.
Thyroid Hormone
Theoretically, lemon balm might interfere with thyroid hormone replacement therapy.
In vitro, constituents of lemon balm extract bind to thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), preventing TSH receptor-binding and leading to the inhibition of TSH-stimulated adenylate cyclase activity. In animals, lemon balm extract has been shown to decrease levels of circulating TSH and inhibit thyroid secretion.
Motherwort, Powder
Cns Depressants
Theoretically, taking motherwort concomitantly with other CNS depressants may increase the risk of sedation.
Motherwort has been reported to cause CNS depression and sedation.
Bugleweed, Powder
Thyroid Hormone
Theoretically, bugleweed may alter thyroid function.
Concomitant use of bugleweed may reduce the effects of thyroid hormones by blocking peripheral conversion of thyroxine (T4) to triiodothyronine (T3).
