This combination pill already packs two sedating ingredients: butalbital (a barbiturate) and codeine (an opioid). Both naturally slow down the brain and body. Lemon balm appears to have its own mild calming, sedative effect, so taking them together could stack those effects on top of each other.

In plain terms, you might feel extra drowsy, foggy, dizzy, or slowed down than you would expect from the medicine alone. The evidence here is on the lighter side and mostly theoretical, so it is not a reason to panic. Still, until you know how the pair affects you, be careful with driving or anything that needs full alertness. A quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor is the safest way to sort this out.
