Here's the simple version: Temazepam already calms your brain to help you sleep, and lemon balm appears to have its own mild calming, sleepy effect. Put them together and those effects can stack up. That could mean feeling more drowsy than expected, groggy or foggy the next morning, more dizziness, or feeling unsteady on your feet. Temazepam is not a prodrug, so this isn't about your body activating it differently. It's just two relaxing things adding together.

Honestly, this is mostly a theoretical concern based on small studies, so it's not something to panic over. Still, since both target the same system, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them, especially if you notice extra sleepiness.

Temazepam capsules — sold as Restoril and under the generic name Temazepam — are indicated for the short-term treatment of insomnia, generally 7 to 10 days. They help people fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer.

This medication is intended for short periods only. If sleep trouble doesn't improve within 7 to 10 days, that may signal an underlying medical or psychiatric condition that needs its own evaluation.
