What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Ubiquinol against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: ubiquinol, a form of coenzyme Q10. Ubiquinol is a compound your body produces naturally and uses to generate energy in your cells.
The softgel also contains several inactive ingredients for delivery and stability: olive oil, medium chain triglycerides, rosemary oil extract, beeswax, sunflower lecithin, and ascorbyl palmitate.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
Coenzyme Q10 is likely effective for replacing low levels of coenzyme Q10 in your body (coenzyme Q10 deficiency). The evidence is possibly effective for fibromyalgia, migraine headaches, congestive heart failure, and diabetic neuropathy, though the research is less conclusive for these uses.
If you're considering this product for one of those conditions, talk with your pharmacist or doctor about whether the evidence supports it for your particular situation.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Ubiquinol is generally well tolerated by most adults when used as directed, with no serious adverse effects reported in clinical studies. The most common side effects are gastrointestinal — appetite suppression, diarrhea, heartburn, nausea, and vomiting — though these occur in less than 1% of users.
Dividing doses above 100 mg into smaller amounts throughout the day can help reduce these effects. Headache, dizziness, insomnia, and skin itching have also been reported rarely.
There isn't enough data on coenzyme Q10 safety during pregnancy, so it's best to avoid use unless your doctor advises otherwise. Safety while breastfeeding hasn't been well studied either — check with your doctor before use.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check with your pharmacist before using this product if you take alkylating chemotherapy drugs, warfarin (a blood thinner), or blood pressure-lowering medications. Coenzyme Q10 can reduce how well chemotherapy works, weaken warfarin's effects, and add to blood pressure drops.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with strong clinical evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Ubiquinol is worth considering if you have low coenzyme Q10 levels or are exploring options for migraine or heart-related concerns — but it's not for everyone. Be especially cautious if you take chemotherapy, warfarin, or blood pressure medications.
Talk to your pharmacist about your specific medications before you start.

Suggested/Recommended/Usage/Directions
SUGGESTED USE: Studies show that taking 2-3 softgels per day for 2-3 weeks restores optimal Ubiquinol levels. Once your Ubiquinol levels plateau after 2-3 three weeks, the recommended maintenance dose for a healthy individual is 1-2 softgels per day.
Those who are older or have decreased Ubiquinol levels due to disease may want to take more. Ubiquinol is fat soluble. For best results it should be taken with meals.

Ubiquinol by NatureWise Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Ubiquinol by NatureWise contains coenzyme Q10, which has documented interactions with several medication types.
The most serious concern is with chemotherapy drugs called alkylating agents (such as cyclophosphamide) — coenzyme Q10's antioxidant effects may theoretically reduce how well these drugs work by protecting cancer cells from the oxidative stress that makes chemotherapy effective.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Coenzyme Q10 may also interfere with warfarin (Coumadin), a blood thinner. Because coenzyme Q10 is chemically similar to vitamin K, it can have blood-clotting effects that reduce warfarin's ability to prevent clots.
Four cases of weakened warfarin effectiveness linked to coenzyme Q10 have been reported. Additionally, coenzyme Q10 may add to the effects of blood pressure-lowering medications, potentially causing your pressure to drop more than intended.
Altogether, these interactions span 196 individual medications. If you take any of these drug types — particularly chemotherapy, warfarin, or blood pressure medications — use the medication checker on this page before starting this supplement.

For each ingredient in Ubiquinol with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Ubiquinol
Alkylating Agents
Coenzyme Q10 has antioxidant effects. Theoretically, this may reduce the activity of chemotherapy drugs that generate free radicals.
Theoretically, antioxidants such as coenzyme Q10 might protect tumor cells from chemotherapeutic agents that work by inducing oxidative stress, such as alkylating agents (e.g., cyclophosphamide) and radiation therapy. The clinical importance of this interaction is unknown.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Coenzyme Q10 is chemically similar to menaquinone and might have vitamin K-like procoagulant effects, which could decrease the effects of warfarin.
Concomitant use of coenzyme Q10 and warfarin might reduce the anticoagulant effects of warfarin. Four cases of decreased warfarin efficacy thought to be due to coenzyme Q10 have been reported. However, there is some preliminary clinical research that suggests coenzyme Q10 might not significantly decrease the effects of warfarin in patients who have a stable INR.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, coenzyme Q10 might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Some clinical research shows that coenzyme Q10 can significantly lower blood pressure, although other studies have shown conflicting results.
