Clinical
This is an oral film-coated tablet sold as an over-the-counter cold and flu remedy under FDA's OTC monograph rules. It combines acetaminophen, which is typically used to reduce fever and relieve pain, with dextromethorphan, a cough suppressant commonly found in cold products. Guaifenesin functions as an expectorant to help thin mucus, while phenylephrine is a decongestant typically used to relieve nasal congestion. The product is intended for oral use in adults and children as directed on the package.
