Mephentermine falls under STIMULANT DRUGS — the group 1,4-dmaa interacts with.

1,4-DMAA is thought to have stimulant and vasoconstrictive effects, which have been demonstrated in animal studies. Theoretically, taking 1,4-DMAA with stimulant drugs might increase the risk of adverse cardiovascular effects. Some stimulant drugs include amphetamine, caffeine, diethylpropion (Tenuate), methylphenidate, phentermine (Ionamin), pseudoephedrine (Sudafed, others), and many others.

Here's the thing to know: mephentermine is itself a stimulant-type medicine that acts like adrenaline, raising blood pressure by tightening blood vessels and nudging your heart. 1,4-DMAA does very much the same job. So when you stack two stimulants together, their effects can pile up. The worry isn't that one blocks the other, it's that they add up and push your heart rate and blood pressure higher than either would alone.

Realistically that could mean a racing or pounding heartbeat, a spike in blood pressure, chest discomfort, headache, or feeling jittery and anxious. This concern is based on how these drugs work and on animal data, not big human studies, so it's theoretical. Still, I'd steer clear of 1,4-DMAA entirely (the FDA considers it unsafe) and check with your doctor or pharmacist.
