Here's the simple version: Mephentermine is itself a stimulant that raises blood pressure and revs up the heart, the same way it's used in a clinical setting to bring blood pressure back up. Ephedra (through ephedrine and pseudoephedrine) does very similar things. So you're not dealing with one drug slowing down another here, you're stacking two pressers on top of each other.

When you combine them, those effects can add up: think dangerously high blood pressure, a racing or pounding heart, chest discomfort, anxiety, and in serious cases stroke or heart rhythm problems. Honestly, ephedra is banned in U.S. supplements for these very reasons, so I wouldn't use it at all. This warning is based on anecdotal reports rather than hard trials, but the risk is real enough that I'd ask your doctor or pharmacist about safer options before mixing anything like this.
