Here's the simple version: Mephentermine (Wyamine) is a sympathomimetic, meaning it revs up the body by raising blood pressure and heart rate. Peyote's active compound, mescaline, also stirs up the nervous system and acts on serotonin pathways in the brain. Put the two together and you're essentially pushing the gas pedal from two directions at once.

That overlap can stack up stimulant-type effects like a racing or pounding heart, spikes in blood pressure, anxiousness, agitation, tremor, and trouble sleeping. This warning is based on how these substances work rather than on solid human studies, so it's theoretical. Still, the concern is real, and peyote is a controlled substance, not a supplement. Please don't combine them, and check with your doctor or pharmacist with any questions.
