Here's the concern with combining peyote and prescription methamphetamine (Desoxyn). Both are stimulating to your brain and nervous system. Methamphetamine ramps up activity by boosting dopamine and norepinephrine, while mescaline (the active part of peyote) hits serotonin pathways. Stacking these two together can pile on the stimulation rather than cancel it out.

What could that look like in real life? Think a racing or pounding heart, spiking blood pressure, anxiety, agitation, trouble sleeping, and in worse cases confusion or even seizures. This warning is based on how these substances work, not on hard human studies, so it's more theoretical than proven. Still, peyote isn't a safe supplement, and I'd strongly urge you to talk with your doctor or pharmacist before mixing anything with your methamphetamine.
