Here's the simple version: methylphenidate (the active ingredient in products like this one) is a stimulant that revs up your central nervous system, and peyote's main compound, mescaline, also stirs up the brain through serotonin pathways. Stacking these two together isn't a metabolism problem so much as a piling-on effect. Both push on your brain and body at the same time, which could mean a racing or pounding heart, higher blood pressure, anxiety, agitation, trouble sleeping, and in a worst-case scenario, things like chest pain or seizures.

I'll be honest, this concern is based on how these drugs work rather than hard human studies, so it's more theoretical. Still, the potential for serious overstimulation makes it one I'd take seriously. Please don't combine them without talking to your doctor or pharmacist first.
