Buproprion, Dextromethorphan falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Acacia Rigidula interacts with.

Theoretically, Acacia rigidula products that are adulterated with beta-methylphenylethylamine (BMPEA) might increase the levels of CYP2D6 substrates.
In vitro research shows that BMPEA, an adulterant found in many Acacia rigidula products, strongly inhibits CYP2D6 enzyme.

Here's the wrinkle with Auvelity (the bupropion plus dextromethorphan combo): the bupropion piece is actually there to block your CYP2D6 enzyme on purpose, which keeps the dextromethorphan working in your brain. Some Acacia rigidula products have been found spiked with a stimulant called BMPEA, and lab studies suggest BMPEA also blocks CYP2D6. Stacking another blocker on top could let dextromethorphan climb higher than intended.

In real life that might mean more dizziness, drowsiness, nausea, or feeling oddly disconnected. There's also a stimulant-on-stimulant worry, since bupropion and these amines can both raise heart rate and blood pressure. This is theory from test-tube data, not proven in people, but the safest move is to avoid this supplement and check with your pharmacist or doctor first.

Theoretically, Acacia rigidula products that are adulterated with beta-methylphenylethylamine (BMPEA) might increase the levels of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that BMPEA, an adulterant found in many Acacia rigidula products, inhibits CYP3A4 enzyme by 37%.

Here's the gist for Auvelity (the bupropion plus dextromethorphan combo). Some Acacia rigidula products have been found spiked with a hidden stimulant called BMPEA. In lab dish testing, BMPEA slowed down a liver enzyme (CYP3A4) by about a third. Dextromethorphan is partly handled by that enzyme, so in theory its levels could creep up, which might mean more dizziness, drowsiness, or nausea.

I want to be honest though: this is only test-tube evidence, not human data, so it's a 'maybe,' not a sure thing. The bigger worry is that both bupropion and the stimulant amines in this supplement can rev up the same brain chemicals, which can stack up. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before mixing them.
