Adrue + Buspirone
Buspirone brand name: BuSpar.
We found no known interaction between Adrue and Buspirone in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first.
Adrue and Buspirone
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Buspirone and Adrue in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Buspirone
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Buspirone is filed under 5 classifications — including serotonergic drugs, serotonergic drugs, cytochrome p450 3a4 (cyp3a4) substrates. Adrue has documented interactions with 3 drug classes — the most serious being barbiturates (moderate), benzodiazepines (moderate) and cns depressants (moderate) — and none of Buspirone’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Buspirone page
“I counsel genuine caution when supplements meet buspirone (BuSpar), the anxiety medication, because four of its 155 documented interactions are rated major. The bulk of the list, 121 ingredients, changes how your liver clears buspirone through the CYP3A4 enzyme, pushing its level up toward dizziness and drowsiness or down until the anx…”

About Adrue
What is Adrue?
- Nausea and vomiting
- Digestive upset, gas, and diarrhea
- Calming or sedative effect
- Traditional use for fevers and infections
Adrue (Cyperus articulatus) is a sedge whose rhizome has long been used in traditional medicine for nausea and other stomach complaints, and as a mild calming agent. Solid human studies are lacking, so its real benefits and safe doses are not well established. Talk to a pharmacist or doctor before using it, and avoid it during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Cyperus articulatus · Cyperaceae · Rhizome (underground stem) and tubers; sometimes the essential oil · Dried rhizome, powder, tea or decoction, traditional preparations, essential oil
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Adrue is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Adrue record says about it on its own.
Adrue: dosing
There is no established standardized dose for Adrue. Traditional use varies widely, and reliable human studies have not defined a safe and effective amount. If you choose to use a commercial product, follow the directions on the label and do not exceed them. A pharmacist can help you review the product and decide whether it is appropriate for you.Do not use Adrue as a substitute for medical care, especially for ongoing nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or signs of infection, which may need proper diagnosis and treatment.

About Buspirone
What Is Buspirone Used For?
Brand name: BuSpar
Buspirone is used to manage anxiety disorders and to relieve anxiety symptoms in the short term. Its effectiveness has been demonstrated in clinical trials for Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) — persistent, hard-to-control worry and anxiety lasting at least a month, often accompanied by physical symptoms like muscle tension, restlessness, and a racing heart.
In clinical studies, buspirone also helped relieve anxiety in patients who had mild depressive symptoms alongside their anxiety. It is not a treatment for depression on its own, and it has no established antipsychotic activity.
