Adrue + Morphine Sulfate
Morphine Sulfate brand names: MS Contin, Kadian, Avinza, Morphabond, Arymo ER.
Adrue has a moderate interaction with Morphine Sulfate. Animal research suggests that taking adrue in combination with sodium thiopental or diazepam increases total sleep time up to four-fold compared to the effects of the drugs alone.

CNS DEPRESSANTS
Why this applies to Morphine Sulfate
Morphine Sulfate falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Adrue interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: morphine already slows down your brain and nervous system, and adrue may have a calming, sedating effect of its own. Put the two together and those effects can stack up. In practice that could mean feeling extra drowsy, foggy, or dizzy, and in a worst case, slowed or shallow breathing, which is the side effect we worry about most with any opioid like morphine.
I want to be honest about the evidence, though. This caution comes from animal and lab studies, not human trials, so it's more of a theoretical concern than a proven one. Still, since both can sedate you, it's smart to play it safe. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, and never adjust your morphine on your own.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Morphine Sulfate page
“With morphine sulfate (MS Contin, Kadian, Avinza), an opioid powerful enough to slow breathing on its own, this list warrants genuine respect. Of the 172 supplements and foods on file, 8 carry a major rating, and most of those pile extra sedation onto a drug that already sedates.”

About Adrue
What is Adrue?
- Nausea and vomiting
- Digestive upset, gas, and diarrhea
- Calming or sedative effect
- Traditional use for fevers and infections
Adrue (Cyperus articulatus) is a sedge whose rhizome has long been used in traditional medicine for nausea and other stomach complaints, and as a mild calming agent. Solid human studies are lacking, so its real benefits and safe doses are not well established. Talk to a pharmacist or doctor before using it, and avoid it during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
About Morphine
What Is Morphine Used For?
Brand names: MS Contin, Kadian, Avinza, Morphabond, Arymo ER
Morphine is used for pain that is severe enough to need an opioid and that other treatments cannot control well. It is meant for people who have not done well on, or cannot tolerate, other options.
Some uses depend on the product. Morphine sulfate tablets treat acute pain in adults and in children weighing at least 50 kg, and chronic pain in adults. Morphine oral solution (2 mg/mL and 4 mg/mL) treats acute and chronic pain in adults and acute pain in children 2 years and older. The 20 mg/mL oral solution is only for opioid-tolerant adults. Extended-release capsules and tablets, including MS Contin, are for severe, persistent pain that needs daily, long-term opioid treatment. Duramorph and preservative-free morphine injection can be given by vein, or into the epidural or intrathecal space (around the spinal cord). Infumorph and Mitigo are only for continuous epidural or intrathecal infusion for intractable chronic pain.
