Pargyline falls under ORAL DRUGS — the group Algin interacts with.

Theoretically, algin can alter the absorption of oral drugs. Laboratory research shows that algin, when consumed as part of the diet or used as a thickening agent in infant formula, reduces the absorption of certain minerals. Also, algin has been used as a tablet binder and disintegrant to enhance drug bioavailability. To avoid changes in absorption, take algin 30-60 minutes after oral medications.

Here's the simple version with pargyline (Eutonyl), an older blood pressure medicine in the MAO inhibitor family. Because algin is a gel-forming seaweed fiber that swells up in your stomach, the worry is that it could physically soak up or trap a swallowed pill and slow down how much of it gets absorbed. With pargyline, that could mean a bit less of your dose making it into your body, so your blood pressure control might not be as steady as expected.

I want to be honest though: this is a theoretical concern based on lab work, not real cases, and it's rated minor. A practical fix is to space them out, taking your algin about 30 to 60 minutes after your pargyline. If you use algin regularly, just run it past your pharmacist or doctor first.
