Androsterone + Ezetimibe
Ezetimibe brand name: Zetia.
We found no known interaction between Androsterone and Ezetimibe in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.
Androsterone and Ezetimibe
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Ezetimibe and Androsterone in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Ezetimibe
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Ezetimibe is filed under 2 classifications — including oral drugs. Androsterone has documented interactions with 1 drug class — the most serious being androgens (minor) — and none of Ezetimibe’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.
Androsterone Does Interact With Other Medications
Androsterone has 9 minor known drug interactions in our database — Ezetimibe isn’t one of them. If you take anything else, check it against the full list below.

Androsterone in Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
When used orally or parenterally. Anabolic androgenic steroids can disrupt the body's hormonal balance and cause various adverse effects including reduced fertility, hair loss, acne, and behavioral changes. Anabolic androgenic steroid use has also been associated with hepatotoxicity and increased risk for heart disease. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration and other regulatory agencies warn that dietary supplements containing anabolic steroids are dangerous. Avoid using.

These are real questions from readers, answered by the pharmacists at HelloPharmacist — written by a person, not generated from a database. See Every Supplement That Interacts With Ezetimibe
This page covers Androsterone only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Ezetimibe page lists 18 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: Activated Charcoal (major), Coffee Charcoal (moderate), European Mandrake (moderate), Flaxseed Oil (moderate) and Glucomannan (moderate).
By severity: 1 major · 8 moderate · 9 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Ezetimibe page
“Almost everything that interacts with ezetimibe (Zetia) works in the gut, and one entry calls for genuine care. Activated charcoal can soak up the drug before your body gets it, which for a cholesterol pill means quietly losing the protection you count on.”

About Androsterone
What is Androsterone?
- Muscle building and athletic performance
- Boosting testosterone or androgen levels
- Supporting libido
- Bodybuilding 'prohormone' stacks
Androsterone is a natural androgenic steroid hormone made in the body, but supplement versions are classified as anabolic-androgenic steroids and are banned from U.S. dietary supplements under the DASCA law. There is no good evidence that taking it is safe or effective, and it carries the same hormone-related risks as other anabolic steroids. Avoid products that contain it, and talk to a pharmacist or doctor about safer, legal options.
Not applicable (a steroid hormone, not a plant) · Historically sold as oral capsules, tablets, and sublingual products in 'prohormone' supplements (now banned in the U.S.)
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Androsterone is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Androsterone record says about it on its own.
Androsterone: dosing
There is no established or recommended safe dose of androsterone as a supplement, and it is illegal to sell in U.S. dietary supplements. We do not provide dosing for it.If you see a product that lists androsterone or one of its alternate names on the label, treat it as a banned anabolic steroid rather than a normal supplement.

About Ezetimibe
What Is Ezetimibe Used For?
Brand name: Zetia
Ezetimibe is used alongside a cholesterol-lowering diet to reduce LDL ("bad") cholesterol, total cholesterol, and related blood fats. It can be used alone or combined with a statin or fenofibrate depending on the condition being treated.
Zetia (a brand of ezetimibe) is specifically approved to lower LDL cholesterol in adults and children 10 and older with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (an inherited high-cholesterol condition), in adults with mixed hyperlipidemia (combined high cholesterol and triglycerides) when combined with fenofibrate, and in adults and children 10 and older with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (a severe inherited form). Ezetimibe tablets are also used to reduce elevated plant sterols (sitosterol and campesterol) in adults and children 9 and older with homozygous familial sitosterolemia, a rare inherited condition.
