Bael + Chlorpheniramine
Chlorpheniramine brand names: Chlor-Trimeton, Teldrin.
Bael has a minor interaction with Chlorpheniramine. Bael and its constituents marmelosin and marmesinin inhibited cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) activity in vitro.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Chlorpheniramine
Chlorpheniramine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Bael interacts with.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 include lovastatin (Mevacor), ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), fexofenadine (Allegra), triazolam (Halcion), and numerous others. Use bael cautiously or avoid in patients taking these drugs.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist with bael and chlorpheniramine. Bael contains compounds (marmelosin and marmesinin) that, in lab dishes, slowed down a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Chlorpheniramine is partly broken down by this enzyme, and it is an active drug, not a prodrug. So in theory, if bael blocks that enzyme, your body might clear chlorpheniramine a little slower and levels could creep up.
If that happened, you might feel more of its usual effects, like drowsiness, dry mouth, dizziness, or feeling foggy. Now, the honest part: this is only seen in test-tube studies, never reported in real people, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Chlorpheniramine page
“An over-the-counter allergy pill sounds harmless, but chlorpheniramine (Chlor-Trimeton) has one of the longer supplement interaction lists I review, and it calls for real vigilance, with the major-rated entries the ones to understand first. Most of the list can shift how the body clears the drug: grapefruit can raise its levels while St.”

About Bael
What is Bael?
- Diarrhea and dysentery
- Indigestion and other digestive complaints
- Constipation
- Blood sugar support
- General wellness in traditional medicine
Bael is a fruit-bearing tree long used in traditional Indian (Ayurvedic) medicine, mostly for digestive problems like diarrhea and indigestion. Modern human evidence for its medicinal benefits is very limited, so it should be viewed mainly as a food and traditional remedy rather than a proven treatment. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using bael as a supplement, especially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a health condition.
