Cyclothiazide is a thiazide-type water pill that lowers blood pressure by helping your body get rid of extra salt and fluid. Banaba, the leaf extract people often take for blood sugar, has also shown some ability to gently lower blood pressure in early research. When you put the two together, those effects can stack up.

What that could mean in real life is blood pressure dropping a bit more than expected. Watch for feeling lightheaded, dizzy, or faint, especially when you stand up quickly. Keep in mind the evidence here is fairly limited and short-term, so for most people this is a mild concern. Still, please check in with your pharmacist or doctor before adding banaba, and don't change your cyclothiazide on your own.
