Black Hoof Mushroom and Terconazole

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Terconazole and Black Hoof Mushroom in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.

If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

How we checked

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Terconazole

Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Terconazole is filed under 2 classifications — antifungals, oral drugs. Black Hoof Mushroom has documented interactions with 3 drug classes — the most serious being cytochrome p450 1a2 (cyp1a2) substrates (moderate), cytochrome p450 2e1 (cyp2e1) substrates (moderate) and immunosuppressants (moderate) — and none of Terconazole’s classifications are among them.

Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

What Terconazole’s Own FDA Label Lists

This is not an interaction — none of it involves Black Hoof Mushroom. These are the most notable effects listed in the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of Terconazole’s own FDA label, for the medication by itself. Knowing the drug’s own list makes it easier to work out the likely cause if something new turns up while you take both.

  • Sun sensitivity
  • Fever
  • Itching
  • Stomach pain
  • Headache

From the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of the FDA label for Terconazole. Read the label on DailyMed › Black Hoof Mushroom’s licensed record lists no adverse effects our clinical vocabulary could match, so there is no Black Hoof Mushroom side to compare — that is a limit of the record, not a statement that Black Hoof Mushroom has no side effects.

See Every Supplement That Interacts With Terconazole

This page covers Black Hoof Mushroom only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Terconazole page lists 20 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.

The most serious there right now: Activated Charcoal (major), Coffee Charcoal (moderate), European Mandrake (moderate), Glucomannan (moderate) and Guar Gum (moderate).

By severity: 1 major · 7 moderate · 12 minor.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Terconazole page

“Terconazole (Terazole) is a vaginal antifungal for yeast infections, and its supplement list earns genuine caution because of one standout: activated charcoal, the only major-rated interaction among the 20 on file. Charcoal binds many medicines and can lower their levels even when a drug is not taken by mouth, which makes it the entry…”

About Black Hoof Mushroom

What is Black Hoof Mushroom?

Black Hoof Mushroom
  • Immune system support
  • Antioxidant support
  • General wellness
  • Traditional cancer-supportive use
  • Inflammation

Black Hoof Mushroom (Phellinus linteus) is a medicinal mushroom long used in East Asian traditional medicine, mainly for immune support. Most of the supporting evidence comes from laboratory and animal studies, and high-quality human research is limited. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using it, especially if you have a health condition or take other medicines.

Phellinus linteus · Hymenochaetaceae · Fruiting body (the woody mushroom that grows on tree trunks) · Capsules, tablets, powdered extracts, teas, and tinctures

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Black Hoof Mushroom is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Black Hoof Mushroom record says about it on its own.

Black Hoof Mushroom: dosing

There is no well-established standard dose for Black Hoof Mushroom. The amount can vary widely depending on the product, the type of extract, and how it is made. The best approach is to follow the directions on the product label and not take more than recommended. Because formulations differ so much, it is a good idea to review the specific product with your pharmacist or doctor before starting.

About Terconazole

What Is Terconazole Used For?

Brand name: Terazole

Terconazole treats vulvovaginal candidiasis (also called moniliasis). This is a yeast infection of the vagina and vulva caused by Candida.

Both Terconazole vaginal cream and Terconazole vaginal suppositories are used for this. They only work for infections caused by Candida, so the diagnosis should be confirmed with lab tests (KOH smears and/or cultures).
